Has anyone ever played this? I would really like to find a copy for my DC or even a copy for MAME but I've had no luck in either dept.

Sarcasm aside, I did not think it would be that hard to find, it has JP releases on Dreamcast, PS2, and GameCube. Oh, and it looks like play-asia has all three in stock at this very moment. So, if you have the $$$ then the game is yours. Not hard to find at all and not especially pricey either.

O3 Entertainment really should focus on releasing the PS2 version of Radirgy stateside. They've already done the vast majority of the translation work, and there's no shortage of niche-publisher titles still being released on the PS2 (Sony aren't about to tell them no and I doubt retailers are going to either) and plenty of shelf space. So I doubt you'd see the same lame excuse as what we got from Nintendo (pretty much the same nonsense that prevented Sin & Punishment from being released stateside 7 years ago).
As for MileStone, they still haven't mentioned anything about porting Karous anywhere (and it's been, what, 8 months since the DC port?) . All they keep providing updates on is the status of Tank Beat 2 and their Brain Training-esque DS games. Hell, Illvelo is getting more updates on their site than anything to do with Karous. I'm still a bit suprised that they haven't bothered porting Karous to the PS2 yet (they've already got an arranged soundtrack from the OST CD for if they chose to do some sort of Ultra/Okawari Mode).

Actually, forget that. I believe it was O3 Entertainment, not Milestone themselves, that confirmed that Milestone was developing Karous for the Wii. Whether or not it's going to get a North America release is up for debate, but it's quite probable, judging from O3's forum hints.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

I'm no port nazi, but the PS2 port of Radirgy is the choppiest, slowdown plagued game I have ever played in this current era of consoles.
It has been frequently hinted at that Milestone is tweaking Karous for Wii controls. And O3 even suggested that Radio Allergy will likely show up in a combo pack with Karous (on Wii).

Then again, who knows. Milestone does have a history of doing pretty lazy ports in general.

Anyways, I'd rather they just release it on Wii, or better yet WiiWare. Not only are they going to be wasting time just trying to port the damn thing on PS2, but it would a helluvalot easy to program for on Wii and the market is there and upfront. And I'm sick of people trying to say Nintendo is only aiming at casuals "only".
But back on topic: If they do release Karous on Wii:
a)Better pack it with Radigy
b)Better make sure the game is fixed for all of those saving problems
c)Might as well overhaul the system they were using with Karous a la Dreamcast release of Bangai-O
Also, I don't think developers need to tack on waggle as some people would think. (FE does NOT use any of Wii's special montion control functionality, and it's a first-party game to boot.)

The Wii has fun and innovative controls, just about a zero percent defect rate, 100% BC with Cube games, an affordable price, and games like Metroid Prime 3 that are not casual games. That's all great and good.... and dont get me wrong, I do agree that the whole "Wiimote" thing truly is a grand idea with boatloads of potential....
....but the system just dont seem worth it when there's barely a selection of games for it.
I see Metroid MIGHT be worth the money (except that Metroid games are always notoriously short), and Mario Galaxy would be worth picking up...... And I dont count the GC games.
.....but then I look at the rest of the selection and see...... well, nothing. Im sorry, all those party games and such do exactly squat for me, and a system with a grand total of TWO games, not worth it.
And I know, fans always go "not everyone has 1039485 hours for these things", but nobody seems to realize..... MOST players dont just sit there for 8 hours straight on something like a long RPG. Even with all of my free time, I manage about 1-2 hours of patience at a time. But I still get through the game, albeit slowly. And it's a deep experience..... which is what the Wii is lacking. Right now, if I want stuff that's more "casual" and able to be played for short times, I'll just use GameTap. Which is 80 gazillion times cheaper.
And yeah, the stuff they have downloadable on their network, everyone always points that out..... and *I* always follow up by pointing out that I already HAVE half of that stuff.... if not in actual cartridge form, than it's EASILY emulate-able, and can be downloaded WAY faster than what Nintendo's oddly slow network can do.
When they start producing more in the way of actual, worth-the-money single player titles (AKA, not party games, not amazingly short and simplistic), THEN I'll deal with the thing.
I know it'll get there eventually, it really will. The DS had the EXACT same problem when it first released, and now it's turned into something great.
But the Wii is doing it soooooooooooo much slower.......
Sorry, dont mean to ramble so dang much about this thing. I tend not to agree with Nintendo's screwball business decisions. Havent agreed with them since the end of the 64 era.

The industry stopped making "hardcore" games for the most part years ago. Some "hardcore" games are not easy. Metroid Zero Mission on Hard is a decent challenge. But that came out three years ago. Raiden III has a lot of challenge in it but hardly anyone buys it. Fighting games are still pretty hard. Multiplayer games can be as tough as whoever is playing. God of War on God mode is hard. Ninja Gaiden is designed to be extra hard. Etc.

If by overhaul you mean they should add an Arrange Mode (like they've done with the later ports of both Chaos Field and Radirgy), then yes, I agree (maybe something like Manpuku or Okawari Mode from Radirgy where there are no extends and more intense bullet patterns).
