Every now and then I play a round of Gradius 3 (arc) and get my ass kicked at the bubbles. I'm getting back into Mushihihime-sama 'cause I finally beat my old high score (after trying to use my HRAP2 to score for ...too long, went back to the PS2 pad.)
Also been playing some R-Type here and there, savestated through Super R-Type to see the rest of the game. I've been turned on to the R-Type series lately, too. Most of 'em are quality.

I love Gaia, what an excellent game; still one of my favorites ever.Sonic R wrote:I've returned to playing shooties after taking a break (last game played was Giga Wing during the STGT'07)
Now I take a break from Illusion of Gaia and have played some:
DonPachi (was not feeling it)
and
Battle Garegga (having some fun here)
And as for shmup games Im playing, Raiden 3's Double Play mode.
Golly is this ever fun, but it's also hard.
Finally getting used to it though; gonna try for real scoring runs here soon.

I'm playing Senko no Ronde for score, don't ask why. (Actually, it's something I do when I can't find any matches.
) I don't feel like I am doing very well, but I'm 19th for Karel. Not so bad, highest non Japanese.
Anyway, Soul Blazer trilogy is amazing and gets even better with each installment. It's one of the few RPG series with real thematic coherence, much like a movie trilogy like Three Colors.

I find that shmup fans have WAY WAY WAY better taste in RPGs than RPG fans. If you think about it, that's not surprising at all.-Bridget- wrote:I love Gaia, what an excellent game; still one of my favorites ever.
