I'm sorry for the poor souls spending money on this sub-doujin quality game. Especially when there are even free shmups which are more fun than this. Oh well. Life goes on.

those ebay prices are nuts.... all that money for the soundtrack? the regular version can be easily found at a much lower price.

Then again that's way I hardly buy anything off ebay now. I just use yahoo japan. way more to choose from and the prices are way better.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

got my copy a few days ago. I haven't given the game a very good shot.

I find arcade mode to be very frustrating, but dreamcast mode is much better. I also play on very easy mode :p

I have yet to get past stage 2 but I really enjoy the presentation of this game. Many enemies are very cheap and can be very annoying but I actually like that in a sick twisted way. This game is like everyone's nightmare from the late 80's.

*sigh*... generally speaking all right. I picked up a Daft Punk CD the came packed with 2 Kubricks of them for a B-day gift. I would have had to pay around 160.00 on ebay but on yahoo japan I payed 60.00.

I was looking for the import Otogi 1/2 pack and on ebay it went to 90.00 on ebay but on yahoo I got it for 30.00 ect...

Returning to Last Hope, for what it's worth I don't think it's as disappointing as Broken Thunder.

Anyway, if this year's Top 25 is any inication, people don't like R-Type as much anymore.

Seriously! And I'd still like to know if this game got a Neo Geo CD release.

TBA! Read the developers faq here.

Now the question you really should be asking is whether or not they'll include the Dreamcast mode or not in this release. It fixes most of the problems of the arcade version and is what made the DC version worth your money.

sounds like it's worth checking out. but the pricetag is way too much for me. I also don't own an NGCD, and the neocd emu for dc has some bad input lag anyway.

I should be getting the LE of this in the mail sometime soon now (I hope).

It looks interesting, and I liked Rayxanber II, so I imagine I'll like this one alright as well.

I don't believe it! Sounds like they actually listened!

Still, I purchased the DC LE. I don't feel like paying another 50 EUR for a bugfix.

How about offering a patch to the people who bought the DC game?
(make an iso of the DC CD, apply the patch, burn to CD-R)

Humor. I meant the general shortcomings/design flaws of Last Hope DC which seem to have been adressed now. Which is a shame. They should have released the NGCD version first and a fixed DC version later.

I think they shouldn't have released anything at all without the proper playtesting. This whole thing is LOL.

I agree that they shouldn't have, but it's good to hear that the NGCD port is better.

My DC copy remains on my shelf, collecting dust. I played it for a few days when I first got it, and that was it. I really have no desire to play it anymore. Weird, isn't it? I don't know. It just didn't appeal to me like I thought it would, judging it by the screenshots I saw before preordering it. I'll probably give it another go pretty soon. It's mighty difficult though. The farthest I've gotten was stage 2. No joke!

On a positive note, I listen to the soundtrack all the time. :)

I should let my friend with the neo CD know...he's been interested in this game :P

Actually, selling a hombrew game for 50 EUR (=72 USD) is simply not right and should not be supported as a matter of principle.

Incredible.

Someone paid that much for the special edition DC version? Its like the low end price of the AES cart. I wish I had money to throw around like that at a hobby.

so owners of the AES get a free copy of the NGCD release since it fixes all the things people complained about....

what about dc owners!

I wouldn't complain so much if it ran perfectly in Neo4all for Dreamcast. but that emu has some rather noticeable input lag :(
