Seriously nice vid, LUNardei.

It almost inspires me to go play Ultra Mode - and then I remember what happened last time I did that.

I said it before: no way!
I've analyzed the problem, it's not that I gave up without a try. The TLB is just too hard, and the famous technique to "easily" dodge the last part requires 3/4 lives

Easiest way to beat him? Collect all lives (including 1up on stage 3) and no-miss until TLB.... good luck and don't die on his first patterns

Jesus major improvement over my score for last weekend. Don't think I'll ever top this for a good long while. Don't know if it was more luck or more learning how to lead shots on Stage 5, but I think I got this 1cc thing down finally (:

Fuck TLB. There, I said it.

Whee, I got a score that doesnt suck!!!

Arrange mode:

Bridget - 331,013,536 - Stage 5

Sat down today and decided to actually TRY the scoring system in this mode for the first time, and that was the result.

Now if I could just get to the final boss with at least one more life..... I came SO close to beating that galdurned THING at the end, but noooooooooooooo.

I updated the scores, and capped the hi score lists at 20 slots each to make the lists less inflated and more competitive. I also got rid of the "arrange mode (rapid fire)" chart, and put HDJ at #1 in the arrange mode chart. Rapid fire doesn't affect your score in Arrange, so the ghost chart was a bit pointless in retrospect.

Maniac Mode (no rapid)

67,171,231 - RGC - Stage 5 - PS2

Had this score a while, but might as well post it now to avoid being shunted off the board.

I know its not top 20 material, but I'm dam proud of this score. On Arrange.

I smashed my old high score by 100 mil. Also, first time making it to the final boss. I remembered some of the patterns from videos I watched, but you can only go so far with no lives and no bombs.

Well, it's unfortunate but I can't get better at scoring in Maniac mode. The score I have posted was done with a PS2 controller, and I can't seem to replicate it with my HRAP. That thing takes serious training, man!

So... maybe I'll play it on Arrange or Original. I dunno, I'm just fed up with Maniac... the time being. You guys are nuts.

I got both of my Maniac mode high scores using a PS2 dualshock controller. Since I switched to a HRAP or other arcade joystick, I haven't been able to get near those scores. Stick with the Dualshock if you're used to it, you can get some great scores with it!!

FINALLY took the top score on my PCB! Died twice in the beginning of Stage 5, which I usually don't do, but survived the rest. I can probably make it with one more life if I'm lucky, trying to trim down the number of bombs I use. I was kinda surprised how much my base score before lives went up from the end of stage bonuses.

To prove that it wasn't a fluke, I went and got 42 mil my very next run o_O;

Original - 43,334,156 – Kenchan – ALL (Lx3) – PCB

So uh, any pointers for Maniac? I'm still really inconsistent in getting thru it, and I still can't score over 40 mil lol

MANIAC MODE

191,830,407 - MHK - stage 4 - PCB

After reaching 180 million at the end of stage 3 with 4 lives left, I made a mess of simply everything at stage 4, including colliding with the head of the mid-boss while doing "up and down" below it, seeing my six-digit counter evaporating. The game ended ignominously in the second phase of the stage 4 boss.

Hey everyone. I'm normally just a lurker around here, but I got a fairly respectable score on Friday and thought I'd post it up. It's my personal best in MANIAC.
