The second time I got a better viewing spot.

What was even better, he got the USA stage at 2-3, and he no bomb the stage + boss. I don't think he lost a life or used a bomb on any of the bosses.

He lost his lives in the stages.

Gradius Gaiden level 7 (black hole level). Very dymamic and unique compared to the many Shmups with static background/foreground. I have yet to see a Shmup with a similar level.

Gradius Gaiden's Walker Boss. Full of weaponry and coolness. Everyone has to see this beauty.

Einhander level 1. It had been ages since I played any Shmups and this game revitalized my interest in them.

Thunder Force 5. Fighting your TF4 ship 'nuff said.

Thunder Force 4 level 1. The music when fighting the boss is great.

Radiant Silvergun. The first time I played this my eyes were wide open

. I think the R-type ship boss is cool.

Ditto. "Whoa!" was my expression when I first laid eyes on the queen bee.

The first time I beat Ikaruga, I was amazed at the crazy bullet patterns in the final level. Everything in that level had my in awe. It's too crazy for a shmup, IMO.

The first time I saw my laser become insanely huge in G. Darius! I'm still not used to seeing that.

I'd have to say the 1st time i played Battle Garrega. I never knew a game could look so smooth and have so many freakin' bullets on it. And it, for the most part, looked authentic(as in something that would've come out of WWII). I still think its one of the most beautiful shooters.

The 2nd level Walker Boss in Axelay - This is probably the coolest animation ever on a Shmup Boss.
