Yeah, I know. I read it and tried to make a funny. BTW, my hiscore is currently 265,430. Pretty awesome, yeah?

Edit: The fact that I've never actually met anyone better than me stands, though. :)

Ooh, a 2-year-old thread returns.

I own the Neo Geo CD version, but it's certainly not among my favorite shmups. There is a good port of View Point for FM Towns Marty, btw.

Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.

I'm gonna go with the PS1 version. I love the high-res graphics, and I don't think it's anymore "unfair" then any other port of this game. Plus, there are level passwords:

http://www.gamewinners.com/playstation/Viewpoint.htm

so you can work on a level as many times as you want; none of the other ports have this.

There's also Desert Falcon, for the Atari 2600 and 7800.

Incidentally I've never played the PS1 viewpoint. But considering the fact that the big draw for the game is the soundtrack, I can't imagine that one being superior to the cart.

Future Spy (also from Sega) is another one, now found in the PS2 Sega Genesis Collection. Bally Midway billed the game in the flyer as having a "Time Travel" theme. After defeating the enemy battleship, you go through a thunder cloud and enter a "time slip" to another dimension.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
