Yes... because in the past I've sworn by Dragon Force so hard core...

God you're such a dimwit. God forbid I actually have an opinion on this board without it somehow being tied to my hatred for Sony.

Me: "I like the color combination red and black"
Neon: "THATS BECAUSE SONY NEVER MADE A RED AND BLACK CONSOLE!"

Me: "I like cheese on my turkey sandwich."
Neon: "THATS BECAUSE YOU KNOW SONY IS LACTOSE INTOLERANT!"

Me: "I like Jesus Christ."
Neon: "THATS BECAUSE YOU KNOW SONY IS SATAN!"
Me: "Well, you got me there."

Heh, well, he'd still be a fan of Dragon Force 2 then, which doesn't appear to be the case.

This is very true. I actually think Dragon Force II was worse than Dragon Force... and I'd give Dragon Force a 5-6/10

You're so fake and you don't even realize it, it's so fun :P

jp when he first got Donpachi: "Yeah, this is a sweet game. I'm gonna buy the pcb." I wish the old forums were still up, you quite literally said you wanted the pcb

then when you realized you'd have to get a ps2 to get their other games you decide you don't like cave stuff in general. Classic.

Otherwise you seem like a cool guy and the only reason I'm against you on these points is because I view 'I hate company X' opinions as silly...every one of them has their ups and downs. PSX got better ports of some shooters and Saturn got better versions of others, each have worthwhile exclusives...both must-haves.

And the 'company X games are all the same' comments which prove you don't play games taking into account their different score systems etc. ...things like that just can't be rationally argued by any justification. 1 rational reason = a cookie for you.

That is all. I won't give you shit about this anymore.

I never said I was going to buy the PCB for DonPachi. I said it was still a decent port and that I enjoyed the game WHEN I FIRST GOT IT. Then my opinion changed the next day after I got to level 4 and realized that I didn't like it that much because it was boring as all hell, and that I found myself going back to Souky and Game Tengoku.

THEN I played DDP, DDPDOJ, Pro Gear, and... one of the ESP games, and came to the conclusion that Cave was just like Psikyo and just made the same game over... and over... and over... and over... and that it was lame as fuck (though I did enjoy Pro Gear alright for some odd reason). And thus, I ceased liking Cave, despite the fact that my liking Cave at all lasted less than 24 hours.

I don't like Cave. If all of Cave's games were on the DC I still wouldn't like Cave. I don't like Psikyo. Psikyo's best versions of games are spread out on the DC/Saturn, surprise sur-fucking-prise. I also don't like Dragon Force, Dragon Force II or Iron Storm, *GASP*

And I don't like Floigan Bros... OMG! And I don't like the Giga Wing games that much; of course, this MUST be because Giga Wing Generations is on the PS2, despite the fact that I've never played it.

Though I find it hard to believe I ever said I'd buy the PCB for anything, since I've NEVER even remotely considered buying PCBs as far as I can recall due to the prices/high upkeep/time it takes to get them to work... or maybe I was high... or maybe you were high... who knows.

Bottom line: I don't like Cave. I don't like Dragon Force. Neither opinion is remotely related to Shai'tan aka Sony.

The big question, though, is: do you like any Sony-exclusive games?

Yes, but could you explain how Progear's scoring system works without looking up an faq? Dragon Blaze? Yeah, dragon blaze, that psikyo game that's exactly the same as gunbarich, zero gunner 2, cannon spike,...

Back to the subject, I like Dragon Force a good bit, but you need to be prepared to set away a good deal of time if you really want to get into it. To really appriciate this game, you really have to invest a good bit of time at first. It can be a bit daunting initially, but once you get the hang of it, it really pays off. The plot is awesome too. Definitely worth picking up. I like the way it challenges the player to really think about what to do before you act: the game has a tendency to be a lot more brutal than other console-based SRPGs if you screw up.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is a must-have, but since I think they kind of belong to different genres (strategy game and a traditional RPG), then I think it's kinda like apples and oranges or however that saying goes.

Sure, G.Darius, Gradius Gaiden, and Gradius V are all great games. Not the greatest things I've played in the world and they definitely won't have me buying a Sony console, but I'd be lying if I said they weren't fun. And R-Type Collection or whatever is fairly spifftacular.

I share a lot of your opinions on sony Jp, I'm a hardcore sega zealot, I haven't bought a new console since dreamcast came out, probably why I went retro and got introduced into shmups a few years back.

A few years ago I would never have dreamed of owning import games let alone radiant silvergun.

If i saw an xbox or ps2 cheap though I would buy it( Very cheap, almost free) Gradius V is pretty dam rockin.

In Summary

Dragon force is yes a very good game worth owning, in either form sequel not as good.

I'm a big SS, PS, PCE, and SCD fan for some reason. No favor towards the DC though...

As for Dragon Force 2, it actually offers more of everything that the first game offered with really no negatives at all besides the awful 3D graphics.
