I LIKE Raiden.

But my teammates most likely won't go for it

But after last week bitch and moan festival… I don't see any thing positive with what ever game is choose.

I cannot play the Raiden Fighter games well enough for this tournement. I am confident that my teammates will pull through however. I fail at score systems  Remember…Soinc R is the dumb dude who don't know how to play shmups and suck at everything…score system are too complex for my dumb ass. Shit on me.

My teammate (Ayanami) describes this title as "Raiden in Space"

With that statement, it had peeked my interest and I am curious to try it out :)

Anyone curious in trying the Seibu SPI games out but can't stand the wait time:

Mame .116 SPI NVRAM Pack (all but one Seibu SPI romset)

Includes: Senkyu/Battle Balls, Raiden Fighters series, Viper Phase 1

WolfMAME .103 SPI NVRAM Pack (two games)

Includes: Raiden Fighters 1 and Jet

Extract appropriate packs to your base MAME folder. The .116 pack should work for .113 and up and .103 should work with .102 to .106.

Xbox MAME can not play these. Sorry.

If those are anything other than BIOS files, you're probably going to have your post edited.

It's only NVRAM files, no rom files of any kind.

nvram is just saved settings

You need to make nvram by going tab reset after the 999 second loading screen on seibu games. Otherwise you'll have to wait 999 seconds every time.

Or you just grab Twiddle's nvram things.

All of these are a fresh boot (they contain only the 2MB of flash RAM needed to boot and save scores/earning records) and the .cfgs just contain the saved JP1 dipswitch setting (ON) and custom key functions set to autofire that I forgot to remove. No BIOS, as Seibu SPI doesn't employ one.

Well the Raiden 1 people enjoy pain anyways, so that's not gonna do anything.

VP1 sucks balls too. What kind of scoring system is "memorize where every enemy comes out, shoot them, but don't shoot the medal pods till they go up or else you get half the medal!" Its a huge pain in the ass, believe me the scoring system is complete balls when you're trying to 100% levels.

RFJ would be a game i'd like to learn how to play better, and one I think is fun and not THAT complicated really (besides chaining messages).

I have to say two things on the matter:

1) I PERFECTLY KNOW that all the other choices would be better, but for me it's a question of either playing a game (the dreaded Raiden) or not playing at all for the week. So please, don't hate me more than the necessary.

2) However, Oldschoolers didn't consult themselves prior to last poll. Since the chances to play this week are relatively slim for me (just one console-available game), if my team does agree on a certain title, I'll vote as them for team-support. Just let me know guys :)

It's a classic. Remember how great Raiden 3 was? That was basically the same as Raiden.

I love sarcasm more than most but sometimes it's so hard to tell on here. Doesn't help that I've never played anything other than Raiden 3 for like 10 minutes so it's even harder to guage these comments :(

Welcome to the club. My expectations have been very low since the start of the tournament. (Less disappointment that way.)
