The last pattern is a joke. The rest is good. (maybe my lack of skills talking but I'm glad to be in the clear after the rose pattern)
Not true at all. Even using the shield, if you want to chain, you're GOING to be weaving through some messes here and there. Especially the green fighter spam at the end of stage 4.
I don't think that is any more challenging than the fourth or sixth bosses. Maybe I have a different reflect routine but the pattern before I kill the fourth boss is also a little tricky. As for the third boss, taken at face value it does suck. But I think they were trying to go for another chaining setup. I still haven't bothered bridging the patterns between the cube-carrying green pods.
I probably seemed overly defensive about this when I do agree they could've matched the creativity of the stages with the bosses. There should be more cube-carrying enemies, bullet transforming red enemies or other new tricks. Maybe in a (never going to happen) sequel.
How so? For space on the hard drive maybe, but to my knowledge all of the probable choices are emulated alright on MameoX. My friend has an X box with mame and we have almost identical ROM lists.
A lot of newer stuff won't run or runs slowly. RF2 et al don't work, the PSX based games either run out of RAM or run choppily. Later Psikyo stuff like Strikers 1999 and Dragon Blaze are choppy, plus newer fixes such as sound in Batsugun aren't present. Having said that there is still a hell of a lot of games which run 100%. I just hate using the Xbox controller with it's clunky D-pad.

I have a Sould Calibur stick for the Xbox. Its crap but better than a pad (for me). g19 - You're right about a number of titles running choppily on the XBOX Mame. Truxton/Tatsujin jitters like crazy .
Anyway, returning to my bump of the thread, Lightning Fighters AKA Trigon would be a fine choice for Konami week. A good challenge....if anyone passes Stage 9 I'm gonna be impressed!

Playing the arcade version now I realize it is not a problem, so it should definitely appear as an option since it is one of the few eligible famous manic shooters. I'm almost 100% certain it would not get picked, but oh well.
Regarding Mars Matrix, is it true that scoring differs quite a bit between the AC and DC versions (and not just in score recording via the extra digits on the score display, but actual enemy base values etc)?
Wouldn't that mean that it's not eligible for tournament play since MAME/AC players would have an advantage over those playing with ports?

Yeah, those of us playing on XBox may be out of luck during Seibu week.
