I'm liking this arrange mode, just tried it earlier. I seem to have this thing for cave arrange modes (read - easier). Anyway, scorewise, poor to be sure but I think I can double it or more.
One annoying thing is my erratic scoring. Stage 1 I left with 7.9 million yet was barely able to add another 3 million by the almost-dead Stage 3 boss.

38,311,350 - Damocles - ALL - Bond (Type D) - Arrange
Got this in the mail today (thanks Cody), so I fully intend to best this soon. Do you know how bad it looks to have an ALL that doesn't even top the default scoreboard? Bad. I can get rank down easily enough...it's getting it back up that's the pain.

You don't have to worry about a thing. I started playing both versions of the game for score and it has become readily apparant (as I suspected) that this is not my type of shooter. If Cave would have tweaked one or two things Ibara would have been my favorite of theirs so far. As it stands, it's just too much of a Garegga 2.0 for me.RotateMe wrote:No... please don't tell me you ALL'd this on your first day! It's quite easy actual to ALL the arranged mode, since scoring is directly reflecting difficulty. You can ALL arranged mode with a 20M easyli but once you want to reach 60M or more, it gets quite hard because you have to leave tons of bullet onscreen before bombing. Leeching the boss is also a must, but dangerous.

Another small increase, but this time enough to give me first place on these boards. This was actually a rather crappy run (had around 9,5 million points after Shasta, while on my better days I have around B,5-C,0 million) up to the last stage. There I luckily was able to compensate for this by managing to drive up the rank enough be able to accomplish an acceptable (although nowhere near "world class") milking of Theresa.

Yup... ALLing it on the first day is still impressive... at least I hope so...superyoups wrote:It's quite easy actual to ALL the arranged mode, since scoring is directly reflecting difficulty. I always wondered if people were able to pick up an average shmup and beat it on the first day, I guess so. I don't mean the notoriously easy shmups either, I was thinking along the lines of Ibara or Espgaluda or the like. Seems it is thenRotateMe wrote:Yup... I did make it to Stage 6 within a couple of hours, but since investigating scoring strategies/rank (of which I had never experienced Raizing-style), I usually don't make it past 4 ie I can't quite score high enough for the extends to suicide, yet I do score much much higher overall despite not getting nearly as far.

Two days to ALL Arrange Mode for the first time, two weeks after that to pass 100mil, and another week on top of that to pass 130mil. Sporadic playing as well, so it would have been a few days faster if I had played it every night.g19 wrote:I always wondered if people were able to pick up an average shmup and beat it on the first day, I guess so. Then again, Arrange Mode is very easy compared to Arcade Mode.
Scores updating some time later, maybe next week.
Work and stuff taking priority at the moment.

A simple Ibara Arranged clear is relatively easy. The dynamic rank definately helps, along with the Cave-style tweaks. For score, however, the level of precision needed is very high. I couldn't chain medals to save my life after stage 3, and that definately hurt score but helped longevity. ...and isn't Espgaluda a notoriously easy shmup if played for survival? Arranged Espgaluda, now that's where the fun is at.g19 wrote:I always wondered if people were able to pick up an average shmup and beat it on the first day, I guess so. Fun fact: I came within an inch (literally) of downing the final boss of Futari 1.5 on my first coin in Original mode, second overall. ...then oxtsu took it back to Oklahoma. ...that's about the only war story I've got. Most shmups take about a week to 1cc depending on time available, more for score.

Really great run up until the last stage. Had around 9,8 million after Kasumi, B,8 million after Shasta and E,5 after Lace. On the last stage I dropped the medals several times, most annoyingly one time just before Theresa. Had I instead managed to get to the boss with 10K medals I think this would have been at least an I score.
