Best bomb explosions in a shmup

Well its been a while since i posted a topic, thought i would stir up opinions. My top three picks

My vote
1st-Under Defeat (looks good, great pyrotechnics, but does not do much damage)
2nd-Raiden II (this baby is a must, and is useful)
3rd- Battlle Garegga (tough one, i know i will get flamed for that one)

Off topic, but the sound of that plane going down on the second level of Raiden II is the best hands down (that will be the next poll)

Metal black (sort of a bomb?) Looks neat

, +1 Under Defeat- VERY pretty explosion, and Yeah, the little 'bomblets' in most of the Raiden Series (they leave little craters!

It's not a true bomb either (or maybe it counts as an alternate way of using your bomb), but the Alpha Beam in G. Darius was cool, especially when you absorbed several enemy beams in succession and it could cover practically the whole screen.

The "nukes" from Darius II, black hole bomb from Darius Gaiden, and delta weapons from R-Types Delta and Final are some of my favorites too.

Not technically explosion, but effect when you use bomb in Gigawing is amazing. DDP type C laser bomb also deserves mention, gotta love that hoover sound.

also not really a bomb, but the radiant sword in Silvergun owns my face every time I see it.

for real bombs... the one in DDP DOJ is pretty sweet. Giga wing has some awesome ones. Batrider also has some very pretty bombs.

Alpha Mission II had my fav bomb of all time which was the "Black Hole" bomb. Nuclear bomb was awesome too.

...would rattle the marquee in the arcade when they went off, and the first spider-tank boss explosions = excellent.
