arcadia high scores
In the new issue of arcadia there is a score of 64.2m in donpachi. Could anyone translate what it says next to the score?
Also the new ketsui high score is an amazing 519m. There is a paragraph about it in the upper right. Could anyone translate this or at least give an idea about what it says?

7/2007 shmup scores
mushi futari

ultra 2933618692 kk
espgaluda 2

donpachi
a-type 64261030
raiden dx
stage 4-6 21271930 exchanger
slamander 2

There may be some other scores and details, but I cannot tell what they are since I don't speak/read Japanese. The same player holds the two records for pink sweets. Odds are the donpachi player is SOF-WTN.

I'll bring exchanger's Raiden DX score to Mills' attention
Not far off...
-----------------------
EDIT:- CIT - It would have to be Charlie (Advanced) Mission. That would be the default mode for multi-looping.
The reason why the loop distance is so low (only loop 4) is that it truly is a 1 life game. Plus there's only 1 extra life.
I'm sure that Mills quoted his at 18,000,000raiden dx
stage 4-6 21271930 exchanger

Actually, I'm pretty sure now it's a Training Course score, since Exchanger still holds the runner-up record for that on AIVA's last update, and since the Expert Course score counter apparently maxes out at 10 Mio(?)
It is possible to loop from Training to Novice and then Expert, after that you just continuously loop Expert. NMT loops it 3 times on the INH DVD. The DVD's transfer rate is too low, so you simply cannot see the bullets anymore.

CIT postulated;
Even if it did do something similar to the Intl version of Raiden Fighters 1, where the score starts again from 0 at the counter stop 100,000,000, you can still calculate the actual score easily
.
?
Anyway, it wouldn't really matter. The Charlie 'Advanced' Mission is what counts.
It might max out at 10mil, but I can't remember - i'll ask Mills. They might also have drawn the line at 10,000,000? As per other multi loopers like Tatsujin, Fire Shark etc.and since the Expert Course score counter apparently maxes out at 10 Mio(?)

I don't remember that on the PCBIt is possible to loop from Training to Novice and then Expert, after that you just continuously loop Expert.

It's very hard to do. You need to no-miss, no-bomb both Training and Novice with 100% secrets and destruction rate over 99%.DEL wrote:I don't remember that on the PCBIt is possible to loop from Training to Novice and then Expert, after that you just continuously loop Expert.?

Especially since the first loop of expert (2-1) will already be at 3rd loop difficulty.CIT wrote:It's very hard to do. You need to no-miss, no-bomb both Training and Novice with 100% secrets and destruction rate over 99%.
On DX I think they only care about stage reached when looping the training mode. Check out this picture. They list DXP's expert mode score as 10,000,000 + A, but list NMT's training mode score simply as 3-5. I knew exchanger had since reached 3-8, but if the 4-6 score is really from training mode . . .

I guess its about what the Japanese regard as the Default Start on DX
I would have thought that a 'Charlie' Mission start is perfectly acceptable.
EDIT:- Here's what Gemant has got on A.I.V.A: Records split as follows:-
PRACTICE 1-5-AUTO ON
PRACTICE 1-5 AUTO NO
NOVICE AUTO ON
NOVICE AUTO NO
PRACTICE SNP AUTO ON
PRACTICE SNP AUTO ON
PRACTICE SNP AUTO NO
ADVANCED AUTO ON 10.000.000+α
ADVANCED AUTO NO 10.000.000+α
So Counter Stop 10.000.000+α is only applicable to Advanced 'Charlie' Mission starts.
Otherwise its the Start from Practice challenge that exchanger seems to be attacking.
If this is what exchanger is doing (starting at Training and pushing round to Bravo then Charlie), its impressive, but unnecessary. If Mills got 18mil from an Advanced 'Charlie' start and exchanger only got 3mil more from the Training start then......Especially since the first loop of expert (2-1) will already be at 3rd loop difficulty.

thanks for posting those scores, zlk. i've got two tiny questions --7/2007 shmup scores
regarding the 519M Ketsui score, did they specifiy the approx. end of first round score
and/or number of reminding lifes upon clearing the game...?
re: futari; assuming you have the arcadia issue from last month (#85-june07), when you have some time,
can you check if there were any scores for ULTRA mode...? just curious, thanks. :)

For the C-ship record, the new stratgey is not getting the capacity bonus past 1-5. It is even possible to set a record if you miss the 800k capacity bonus on 1-4. I guess new combos were developed and are easier to pull off if the rank is normal. It is pretty amazing because players are giving up 10m points from the 2-1 and 2-2 capacity bonus.
For the A-ship record, I have no idea what WTN is doing. In last months arcadia there was some special note about 2-4, so my guess is he can get the capacity bonus there which is worth an extra 5m points.

We need someone reliable in Japan to go to the Daytona III arcade and ask some players how much would they want to make a replay. WTN (A-type record holder) and Exchanger (C-type record holder) both play there. I have been told that another top player is trying to break the record with the B-type ship there as well.
We need GaijinPunch....

Just no-missing it through 2-2 is amazing enough. First time I no-missed up to 2-2 the game goes apeshit on me and the suicide bullets start spreading everywhere like in Batsugun's 3rd loop. I decided then if I got to the end of 1-5 without dying again I would suicide before killing him so the rank would go back down and I'd still have a full bomb stock going into 2-1. At 2-2 on full rank I have to waste all my bombs and still get killed anyway, so it's better to have 3 lives and 7 bombs than 3 lives and 3 bombs.LUNardei wrote:This means no-miss the infamous 2-4, right?
