@Ceph
Hmmm, sorry didn't know that. Kinda sucks, would be better to put a warning into the options menu. On the other hand XBLA games are not your usual $60 import and resolutionwise it shouldn't be too much of a problem if the screen is big enough. Let's hope for a PC version like the last one :D

Anyone know if this require a specific version of the Type-X motherboard (not talking about Type-X2, I'm talking about the many different version of the original Type-X mobos). I just looked at the insomia videos again, and this looks like a big graphical improvement.

Can anyone translate that? I'm all for voting for a port of Raiden IV, but I have no idea what bits to click.

Is it known what exactly they spent all that extra time doing to this game? 6 months to make the laser look more awesome?

Hmm, they have Dreamcast listed among the systems in that survey. Yeah, like that's ever going to happen.

Interesting what the options were on that one. I never expected to see Dreamcast, especially considering this is 2007 and nowhere near NAOMI.

So is Moss considering a possible DC GD-Rom disc release of Raiden IV?

Definitely major new news to me... ^_~

Lots of screens up at the-magicbox:

http://www.the-magicbox.com/0706/game070608a.shtml

Looks better than Raiden 3.

Looks like they have the same max x2 multiplier system for this one. Bleh. I was hoping for something new and interesting. :?

I voted for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and PSP ports.

The purple toothpaste laser is looking great again. If there are only 5 levels this time with a loop, I hope there's a little difference in enemy patterns the 2nd time through the stages.

DC: Rabid user fanbase which includes hardcore shmup fans that WILL buy one when/if released.
(Not to mention the lower development cost and larger installed Naomi cabinets)

PS2: Madden fans, GTA fans, FF Fans, Metal Gear Fans...

PS3: 599 USD. It's got HDMI, a HDD, 1080i, Blu Ray, manages your checkbook, improves your sex life... and uh.. erm... uuhhhhh...

X360: The american devil in core! Unenthusiastical lack ensures the non-deployment of softwares on base!

Wii: Hmm... okay, maybe. Lo-res support? 250 USD? Selling like hotcakes? Hmm...

PSP: I can play movies on my widescreen! Wheee!

PC: Time to the x86 heart on fire!!11!!1one!

Wii does 15khz low res? Didn't know that.

But why would it matter when Raiden IV is a hi-res game?

I chuckled :) But still...

Except they've already developed the game on Type-X. Whatever happened with GD-ROM production, anyway?
Specineff wrote:PS2: Madden fans, GTA fans, FF Fans, Metal Gear Fans...
Raiden Project, Raiden DX, Raiden III... I suppose backwards compatibility means the PS3 sits here as well, but comparing the installed bases makes for some fun.

Or, more practically, 480p normal aspect TATE game requiring reproduction in 720p widescreen. What?

I agree; I honestly hadn't even thought of a DC port of the game until you mentioned it being an option. :o

I'm thinking that it's there for something like statistical purposes... Would the game actually present itself well on the PSP, for example? Still, I'm going to vote for it, simply for shots and goggles. If Exzeal ended up being on GD-ROM then I'd be slightly more inclined to believe that it could happen. After all, Shikigami no Shiro II and Psyvariar 2 were ported to multiple different platforms (although that might say more about the established NAOMI system; I'm not sure).

In any case, I like it when developers ask what consumers would prefer, even if it can't be provided (for whichever reason). I also like that they mention a home port at all, as well as providing a location entry for people outside of Japan and even asking the name of the country! I'm going to believe that's at least acknowledging the fact that they do have overseas supporters, even though it could be simply to flag entries for the wastebasket as far as I know.

(I mean... "Have you played this in the arcade? [...] C. I'm waiting for a home port." Goodness knows that I'd play it in the arcade if I could, so this was nice to see.)

Thank you for the heads-up, P_HAT! :)

I voted for DC and PC ports... especially a PC one. The chances of it coming to the US on the PS2 are slim, while I can already play imports on my DC and PC.

AFAIK, yes. Isn't it interlaced 640X480 just plain old NTSC resolution?

Same here, even that translating link does me no good, prolly cuz I don't have any japanese language fonts installed.

Anyone care to dissect the questions so more people can vote.
I know thats prolly asking alot, but It'll make you the coolest person alive for a day. :)
