Perhaps someone that's been following can help me out here. There's a notice of an upcoming location test at Moss's official website. I've seen no mention at Danmakugata, which generally has all the latest shooting info.

I hope it's something with an entirely new theme, and not just a Raiden III upgrade, but the lightning does seem a bit Raiden-ish.

Raiden Fighters 3 will never come. It would be an impossible task to improve over previous instalments + Raiden I, II, DX and III are more known anyway (at least on the home-scene)
Raiden Fighters 3, that would be too awesome to even consider, someone please make an artists impresion of what the logo could look like

Viper Phase 2 sequel from Moss?...
A true sequel to Seibu Kaihatsu's classic arcade shmup Viper Phase 1/Viper Phase 1 New Version/Viper Phase 1 U.S.A. would be ace in my book... ^_~
It doesn't look like that's going to happen though...how about another go at Viper Phase 1 for old time's sake? ^_~
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~

It seems rather early for a Raiden IV to be coming, so I'd think this could be something more Raiden Fighters related. If not that, then it's more likely an upgrade such as Raiden III DX with new level layouts, some added enemy types, and some special bonuses.
I see that the text on Moss' page is "Yomigaeru Ikazura no Shihou" (legendary bird of thunder?). That'd be a nice description for the Raiden ship.

Honestly, I'd rather Viper Phase and the Raiden Fighters series get home ports before any new Raiden comes out. I think it's been long enough, and those games did well enough, to warrant at least a collection of them.

No, that would be sad! It would be the equivalent of when Compile abadoned shmup development in favor of endless Puyo-Puyo games.Icarus wrote:Don't expect too much, and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. ^_^Twiddle wrote:I'm primarily expecting that
Now that would be the most amusing release this year. ^_^bloodflowers wrote:Raiden The Mahjong: Judge Spears
