Plenty or a decent amount of fast bullets. Plain looking graphics, but some interesting camera sweeps and 3D effects. I don't think I can resist ordering this anymore. I'm a sucker.
Same here. I'm probably more excited about Trizeal than any shmup release in the past couple of years (since, say, Ikaruga in 2001). A mid-90's style shmup release in 2005 - that's hard to resist for someone like me! Then again, I'm not a fan of the manic style of late... and Trizeal looks like a return to the previous era in shooters which I find has a wonderful balance between classic and manic (i.e. many of the games in the Raiden DX, DonPachi, Batsugun era where the term 'manic' was still a couple years out and the shooters were still using the classic formula but getting pretty darn refined... with tons of things to dodge, shoot and destroy).

Is that so? As in, if you had a DC, you'd for sure place an order for the game, maybe even a pre-order? Not to put you on the spot, or anything.
Exactly so, yes. A pre-order would be most likely.

Sooo there's slowdown in the game? Seems a tad sloppy given the simple design of the game. Ah well one more week. *-neo
Yeah quite a bit of slowdown in the arcade version too, so not fixed in the port?

Btw what is Zero gunner 2 like? I'm still holding out for a naomi cart rather than just buying the DC port.

I haven't watched the entirety of the 3-minute digest video, so I'm not sure if it displays the slowdown being discussed currently... But, I thought that I'd note that the 3-minute digest is from the arcade version, and the movies on the official Trizeal Dreamcast page are (I believe) from the actual DC version. Yes, there's still an amount of slowdown present in the official page videos, but I imagine that at least some of the bigger kinks would be worked out in the four-month span in between the arcade release and the DC port announcement...

Naomi>>DC port rule '#1'...slowdown is never removed, for technical reasons. Which isn't a problem in my eyes- actually helpful in many cases - so long as it's not Chaos Field levels where it brakes the game in a major way.

Amazing Vid! The Bullet patters remind me of Rayforce!

Also, I don't see how $60 is so expensive, compared to many other import shmups :?. I bought Border down for 60 also.

After hearing the boss battle music, the music is very unique. Too bad it could've been much better.

Shikigami no Shiro 2 is an exception, The DC version runs considerably better than the Naomi version.

Oddly enough, the DC port of Shikigami no Shiro 2 actually came out after the GCN version. How does the GCN one compare to the Naomi version?

I disagree of course, though if going by the Appreciate DVD for Naomi reference it's more understandable your statement. There's a few key areas prone to slowdown, and it can change dramatically depending on the player's technique.

After watching that video... I'm still going to buy it... but it still looks damn unimpressive. The "black-hole" mechanic did look kinda neat though.

GC version has better, clearer music (from what I understand the songs are slightly arranged or remixed). It also has wait off/on (no slowdown, arcade's).

If the game has slowdown in the arcade, well thats how its meant to be, & if changed not a true port.

I'm surprised no one else mentioned this yet but if you POed the game at P-Asia (not sure about other sites) you're getting a free 3-track CD and Bandanna. Rock on.

It has wait off/on...explain how the DC version is still better, this should be entertaining.

Any word as to whether Trizeal is worthwhile or not, anyone (with an unbiased perspective?) It's been released hasn't it?

Yeah, I got the e-mail notification this morning that my order shipped today! When I went to go check the order status I noticed the pre-order bonuses. Definitely looking forward to that bandana. Can't wait until it gets here! :D

Well, "wait" simply "emulates" the arcade slowdown. It's artificial, and may or may not "recreate the arcade experience" accurately... but then, only the actual arcade hardware and software could, so, it's anybody's preference as to which "almost arcade" slowdown they prefer, if any.

I purrsonally prefer the DC versions of NAOMI ports, because the hardware is similar. A well-done port will shine on any system, but I understand that there are subtle nuances inherent to game hardware.

It's shipped only a day early, so, it's likely that most peoples' copies are flying through the air as we speak. Type.

Congratulations to those whom pre-ordered at Play-Asia.com; First to ship and bonuses included, pretty sweet! :D
Lik-Sang should be shipping now as well, and NCSX (and Sega Direct!) will probably be tomorrow.

I pre-ordered from playasia, got the confirmation email too, but when I checked the order status and invoice, I don't see any bonuses being shipped..? Is it only a limited number of first pre-orders? I ordered mine begining of Feb.

Ahh, but it could be 3 exclusive arrange tracks...

Pretty sure that they are! Plus, the DC version of course includes the sound test as well. :D

I must admit that I was thinking that there would be a bit more than three on the CD, but then, there are only two on the Chaos Field Special Remix Vol. 2 disc, and it's a must-have. I'm certainly not going to sneeze at a free three-track CD with "Eternal Traveler" on it.

This really is the icing on the cake for those of us who supported Triangle Service on this one.

btw icepick, you made a good prediction back in February...
icepick wrote:Did the DC Trizeal info page always have the bandana and soundtrack information on the bottom of the page? I must've missed it before, but, the text above both of them makes me wonder as to whether or not the two items are indeed Sega Direct/retail store pre-order exclusives. I'm wondering if there'll be something bizarre (okay, not so bizarre) like the extras spilling over to places as with Chaos Field Expanded for GCN.
And that's exactly what happened :)

Yeah, same here. I think we're getting screwed. XD

If I have to, I'll buy another one just to get my damn goodies, and sell off the normal game. :/

I don't think bonuses are listed in the order status or invoice if you preordered before they renamed the product link yesterday. But they should still be sent out if PA knows what's good for them.

Could be wrong though.

Ordered this the other day :). Don't know anything about the original arcade game, but it's a Dreamcast Shmup so it's got to be good... Right?
