Anyway, if they make Ketsui for the DS, they will take the device into cosideration.
Ketsui for DS?!

Yeah, I actually tried it and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Thinking about it, it seems like tilting it 90 degrees counter clockwise, the screen would be in the way, but it really isn't. I realized that it fits the natural angle my thumb sits at very well.BrianC wrote:I use my left thumb for the d-pad and my right thumb for the buttons.FrederikJurk wrote:But how do you use the face buttons AND the d-pad when having the unit sideways?!? The new video was quite cool. As already said, even if it's just a stretched, portable boss attack game, I would still purchase this. A port of the full game would attract my import dollars much faster though of course.
Ditto on the Lite's D-pad. It works great for games like Mario Kart (especially when snaking) and NSMB but is an absolute nightmare for others such as GSH. Another random example of how much better the original D-pad is: when I used to have my chunky DS, I barely missed the analog stick when playing Mario 64. Not so with the Lite which makes the game quite uncomfortable to play.

In Mihara's recent blog entry (4.2.2007) he mentions a title for the Ketsui DS game suggested by a fan on one of the questionnaires: "Adult's Kizuna Jigoku training: 5 box power training".
He also posts a cryptic message about the rumor of an X360 port of Ketsui. Seems the X360 is the best hope for a full Ketsui port.

It would rock if it was part of the Virtual Arcade, if it does come out, of course.TWE wrote:In Mihara's recent blog entry (4.2.2007) he mentions a title for the Ketsui DS game suggested by a fan on one of the questionnaires: "Adult's Kizuna Jigoku training: 5 box power training".![]()

why not make countless hours of zombie jumping in dead rising one of the conditions to be allowed a download too!
headliner : xbox live arcade suuuuuuuuuuucks!
im perfectly content with no port at all if its not a proper release (not saying that just because i have the PCB).

What Sven said. And also, I want games that I can put on my shelf and that don't disappear when my console's HDD breaks. Otherwise I'd be downloading ROMs.

doh. I forgot Digital Eclipse did the XBLA ports. I like their Capcom Classics Collections, but they are too fond of filtering and don't pay attention to stuff like tate. They aren't very good with sound either. Actually, I prefer physical media too, though if the game was on XBLA, it might be cheaper. I heard that XBLA does have some neat original games, though.
I guess you could probably tell I don't have XBLA. I thought it sounded interesting because the TMNT arcade game is on it for 400 points and Geometry Wars and Assault Heroes sound pretty cool.
I remember reading that Digital Eclipse was doing the SEGA Genesis emulations for the Wii, but it looks like they were handed to M2 instead. Probably a wise move.

So I could possibly have two options for playing this game:
1. Buy a second(third, fourth, etc) hand pcb from some shady dealer and supergun. $1200+possible maintenance costs, etc.
2. Buy an Xbox 360 and download the game on on XBLA. $450
As long as there is a tate option i'm fine. I really don't think it would look as ugly as people are gonna try to make it seem. I don't care if its only a download, who cares about whether or not you could sit it on a damned shelf? Most folks sphincters would crinkle, but they prolly already own the pcb so fuck 'em.
The DS is not even a serious option. If you think so, you should be stabbed in the pisshole with an icicle.

XBLA for this game would be awesome and most likely far more profitable for Cave. I'd buy for 1200 MS points ($15). Obviously the game wouldn't be so visually appealing and lag would probably make online coop a horrid idea, but leaderboards would be cool.
A full-price release on either next-gen console would be financial suicide. The only feasible console for a port would be the PS2 but of course that ship has sailed.

This is all awesome until it only gets released in the japanese XBLA region

But yeah, I don't think you'll see this on XBLA.... ever.

It's not a serious option if you want a perfect home port of Ketsui. If you want a portable manic shmup I don't see what the problem is. Nobody would rather have it on the DS, but sometimes a heavily altered port can be fun in its own right (look at pretty much every arcade port before the 32 bit era). If this had a different name I doubt anyone would complain (and it might as well, because as everyone has said, there's no way in hell it'll remotely resemble the original).Never_Scurred wrote:The DS is not even a serious option. Oh bullshit, you are so just saying that because you have the pcb.Ceph wrote:sven666 wrote:fuck yeah, bring on filtering and motion blur and all kinds of cool effects.. not to mention a hella-cool widescreen streched yoko-only wiev.BrianC wrote:

What Sven said. And also, I want games that I can put on my shelf and that don't disappear when my console's HDD breaks. Otherwise I'd be downloading ROMs.
And widescreen stretch, what games have that, even as an option, except Castlevania? Agreed filtering is bullshit but rather filtering then paying up an insane amount of money for the pcb.
With that said, i would prefer it released on disc, but games DO NOT dissapear if your hdd breaks down, and it's just stupid to think that.
Arcade games are linked to your account, forever, just download them again.
