Scores are updated.
freddiebamboo wrote:Did the score in extended mode, is that ok? The novelty of different coloured bullets was too much.
Yes, that is fine. Aside from the second loop, scoring itself is completely unchanged.
freddiebamboo wrote:Are there any videos of the stage 2 boss milk anywhere? I'm still not 100% on what is needed to be done there.
I wouldn't worry about that too much, as the bossmilk is pretty difficult to get down, and you need a pretty good understanding of the boss patterns before attempting it. The points that result are quite nice, but for five minutes you do very little besides tap to stay in line, and if you aren't comfortable with the rest of the game yet, it just adds another obstacle to your play.

If you're still interested, I'll hack the clip off the Insanity DVD for you.

Cheers, but I've managed to achieve the insanity replay and it does look a bit too tricky to be bothering with at the mo - and like you say, sitting for 5 minutes just to fluff stage 3 isn't overly appealing

I'd like to see the clip. I've pretty much got the 'blow out weapons' part down, but I always seem to end up destroying the wheels when trying to milk.

Kaiser, you seem like someone I can well compete with:

16.784.580 - Stage 3 - Bond (Type D) - PS2 Arrange mode

Had some way better scores but I used to restart on level 1 which disqualified me from getting a highscore entry.

Stage 5 boss is pain in the ass, need to 1 life to him that's for sure, i manage to beat first boss on maximum rank without losing any life (You need to know timing and good moves on this fight)

It's strange, I couldn't ever make it to stage 6 for now but my scores are better then yours though, kaiser:

22.963.910 - Stage 3 - Bond (Type D) - PS2 Arrange mode

Even if I don't score I can't make it farer by now. But I'm not disappointed, playing only for one week now. But never spend so much time per day on a shmup. This one has set my heart on fire!

Finally came back to this game yesterday after a long (year-long?) haitus. I have a new appreciation for it now! This game is definitely much better than Ibara Black Label.

Arcade Mode:

The answer to this question is probably somewhere in this thread, but I'm too lazy to look through it:
How do you trigger Harder and Extended mode on the PCB?

I really like the style of this game, but coming from Espgaluda as my first "modern shooter" this one is giving me a real hard time!

Another Arrange Score:

(31,258,250 - RotateMe - Stage 4 - Bond (Type D) - PS2) see below

I just recorded a level 1 ~18mil with my father's DVD recorder but my DVD drive on my PC won't accept the disc. It's not a DVD-Burner so maybe I have to finalize the DVD with the player or something? Or might the disc be damaged? Are there DVD-Drives that won't accept DVD-R at all? Sry that's a little OT but it would be nice if I was able to up my run.

*edit*

39,257,720 - RotateMe - Stage 5 - Bond (Type D) - PS2

As I obtained my new score my first reaction was YEEEESS!! I saw level 5 the first time and the score was alright. But when I realized that I was one bomb away from the extend the YEEEESSS became a NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo! I will provide photos soon, and when I know how to get this DVD stuff working I'll provide a video.

Well I like the progress though. Best shooter I've met in my short experience time with shmups.
