[quote="Blade"]Will they ever fix the Tate issues?
Do I have to tell my story again?

Wow... That sucks. I guess I lucked out with my monitor choice and I have no problems with rotating for TATE games.

that's what you get for buying a game other than for playing it.... plus that ain't worth nothing. But I have 3 sealed DC versions collecting dust in my closet! I was hoping to retire off those things!
my RSG and Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru however...... hahahahahaaaa!!
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Currently here in Australia I think it's actually cheaper for me to buy arcade RSG and Ikaruka plus full ST-V and Naomi kits than it is to buy a single Xbox 360 locally. Console prices here are insane.howmuchkeefe wrote:If Radiant Silvergun comes out for XBL, I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from buying a 360
Not to mention I already own Ikaruga on DC.
I can quite easily stop myself from buying an Xbox 360 when I think about it in those terms.
Back on the original topic: this gets filed under "overhyped Treasure-related news" for me. Just like all the other overhyped Treasure-related news that never came true. I'll get interested when it happens in "The Real World (tm)".

It probably won't, considering the XBLA version might not be arcade perfect. I remember when people speculated RSG being released in Gunstar Treasure Box, but it wasn't, and nobody cared either way. Probably because the price doesn't change.BulletMagnet wrote:You really think it'll bring the price down? I recall similar discussions popping up when re-releases and such have been announced (most notably the Sengoku collection's possible effect on the Saturn Sengoku Blade)...I haven't kept up very closely with the market, but I don't recall seeing any re-released game's original port bottom out after the re-release comes out. Granted, I wouldn't mind if this did happen, but...Specineff wrote:I felt a disturbance. As if millions of ebay sellers and collectors cried in pain, and were suddenly silenced... That said I'm sure there's bound to be something wrong with the XBLA version. This is the xbox 360 we're talking about after all.
edit: oh double post lol because I'm fuck lazy

As far as I know ALL of the 360 titles are displayed in 720p. It is also possible to display games in 1080p but so far there are barely any XBLA games that support such high resolution. Theoretically the 360 shouldn't have any problems emulating the DC version 100%. Considering the fact that there's already a Naomi port out there in the form of Senko no Ronde it is very likely that Ika will be arcade perfect. I wouldn't be surprised if it even gets a little bit "beefed up" in order to give the people who already own the DC version a reason to grab this one too...
About this whole "wake me up when it happens in the real world" shit: Treasure mentioned in interviews that they are very keen on releasing a product for XBLA and another one at full price, so the question is not really whether it'll happen but more when it'll happen. Since they're quite busy with the original 360 project right now while also looking into the possibility of getting something ready for the Wii, it is very likely that the XBLA title will be a rerelease. Imho they won't release RS any time soon because that would piss off some of the hardcore collectors. The compact and extremely stylish Ikaruga is a far better choice when it comes to XBLA.

100% of XBox Live Arcade games respect the broadcast setting that you give to the console.Arznei wrote:Like 90% of 360 owners even know what this game is.
But I need to know if this game does 720p.
100% of XBox 360 games have 720p for the target render.
100% of XBox 360 games that respect the broadcast setting you give the console do so by scaling to the other resolution--even if that resolution is lower than 720p.
So assuming this news is true, then absolutely, yes, like every other 360 game in existence, it will do 720p.
Even original XBox compatible games are 720p. If you use 480i or 480p, the game is still rendering in 720p and using the scaler chip to bring the broadcast down. So no worries there.

Hmmm, Ikaruga wasted on 360 owners?! How does that work? Treasure will make some good money and the crowd that plays Geometry Wars, Mutant Storm, Assault Heros or oldschool stuff like Defender and Galaga has one more shooter to choose from while the game itself will finally get the proper massdistribution it deserved from the beginning. Where's the problem here? Or is it just the fact that Live is run by M$?
Btw, how many XBLA games are only available to the Japanese customer? Sounds like a worldwide release to me...that is if it really happens.

Sounds pretty sweet.. minus the scaling/fake shit. If it's true 720p then awesome, if it's not oh well. The game looks pretty good on 480p I must say. I'm not sure what it's going to be like on something better.Endymion wrote:100% of XBox Live Arcade games respect the broadcast setting that you give to the console.Arznei wrote:Like 90% of 360 owners even know what this game is.

I thought games couldn't be over 50mb on XBLA? Ikaruga is 16mb compressed, but you can't play it in it's compressed state.. and uncompressed it's like 700 mb. What's up with that?

The new limit is 250 MB because there's a new higher capacity memory card.Arznei wrote:Sounds pretty sweet.. minus the scaling/fake shit. If it's true 720p then awesome, if it's not oh well. The game looks pretty good on 480p I must say. I'm not sure what it's going to be like on something better.

SotN XBLA is almost 100 MB. Good compression there.

Dummy data, to push the useful data to the outside of the disc where it can be loaded faster with the same disc RPM. Put your burned CD in your computer's CD-ROM and see how big the actual game data is, minus the gigantic file.Arznei wrote:Ikaruga is 16mb compressed, but you can't play it in it's compressed state.. and uncompressed it's like 700 mb. Aha, true. A 360 is still AU$600+. An ST-V and Naomi board plus the games can be had for around the same price or cheaper.elvis wrote:Currently here in Australia I think it's actually cheaper for me to buy arcade RSG and Ikaruka plus full ST-V and Naomi kits than it is to buy a single Xbox 360 locally. But no doubt I'll pick it up on XBLA, even though I have my DC version.
I hope Radiant Silvergun stays where it is though. I don't want those XBL kiddies dissing it as "some arcade game with crappy graphics". Leave it on the Saturn.

Still Silvergunning after 12 years!

Every game is BOING. It's pretty much a fact of lifeNeon wrote:It's not even out yet, 360 version could have all kinds of extra features for all we know. And it'll cost like $5-10 like most XBLA games won't it?BOING

At any rate great news; Ikaruga is quality, even if you don't like the mnemonic-ness.

Apparently an incomplete version is confirmed to be floating around on partnernet - this would seem to be much more than plans or rumours.
I do hope they don't make it Japan only. XBLA -needs- a title like this to give it some credibility again.
Going to sell my 360 soon to get one of the newer ones with the quieter+faster DVD drive, plus the existing one is taking an absolute beating with nearly constant Phantasy Star Universe play.

I've heard there's all kinds of junk on partnernet that will never see the light of day on xbla. We are talking about xbla here, they've been terrible at getting games to market on that service. Hopefully the new head of xbla will turn the service around and start getting a steady flow of games relased.
