The Games Ever (DC)

Post by 1up »

Well, some time ago I bought a cheap DC from ebay ( £8 ) and it came with Ikaruga and RE:CV

Wondered what was the games ever to get for this system. What would people recommend?

I know people will suggest Radiant Silvergun, but Im not looking to spend a small fortune on one game.

Also what non-shmup games are a must for this system??

I highly doubt anyone will suggest you get Radiant Silvergun for your DC, due to 1) it doesn't exist, and 2) this topic has been covered so thoroughly already that you should use the search feature and find the answers yourself.

There is a small list for the DC in the FAQ, check it out.

ok, maybe I was a little groggy this morning. Let me specify.

What are the must have games for the DC that is not available on any other console. I dont have a supergun or access to PCBs, and Im not ready to pay out my ass for rare DC stuff.

Radiant Silvergun is for Saturn

Well, sounds like you got a good deal anyway so why not flex your wallet a little.
These are the "must haves" that come to mind: Border Down, Trizeal (be sure to flip your monitor), Bangai-O, Zero Gunner 2, and...Gunbird 2 (again, flip).

Haven't played Under Defeat. We're still waiting on a solid review of Last Hope.

Non-shmups? Eww!

I also recommend Under Defeat. Feels kinda like a Psikyo game on adrenaline. Someone descibed it as "Explosion Porn" and I have to agree. Even though your main gun doesn't power up, you still kick tail, and the mechanics are simple yet challanging to master.

Mars Matrix is pretty good. I have a love/hate relationship with it, and really all the Takumi stuff. You really NEED to use their system to be effective, and it makes the games as strategic as an R-Type or Gradius title, though much faster and bullet-helly.
