There is no TLB info. No one has found a TLB and no one has figured out how to see the end credits either. Something's fishy.

Galuda 2 and Futari 1.5 are both excellent games.
Read up on Galuda 2 in its thread, and all the Mushi Futari info is obviously in this thread. Personally if I someone put a gun to my head and I could only choose to keep one of those two boards, it would be Mushi Futari 1.5. But I also liked the original Mushi more than the original Galuda.

Futari 1.5 will be expensive for quite some time, so if you need a newer Cave game soon, the obvious choice is Galuda 2.

It'll take a year for Futari to get down to the Galuda 2 range. I like Galuda 2 better personally. The game mechanics are many dimensions deeper than it's predecessor. If the theme of the first one bothers you, you will not like it.

Futari might keep you busy longer w/ 3 different modes though (2 of them being somewhat accessible).

Someone on 2CH saying they're from Cave posted a message today saying there is no TLB, and there is no Credit roll. The reason is the schedule was too hectic and they simply ran out of time. This person also says to expect a similar situation with Muchi Muchi Pork, though he doesn't mention specifics. He apologizes to all those who have been playing Ultra mode with the hopes of meeting a TLB. This person ends saying "I'd like to leave (Cave) soon with some coworkers (and start up my own company)"

The guys there are saying the post was by Ikeda.

I seriously doubt he would bother w/ 2ch. I would hope not anyway.

Well I don't know for sure if it's Ikeda, but it's someone who works at Cave. You can read the message here:

http://game11.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gam ... 0879/1-100

Message 48. And why wouldn't he post there? It's the most active place for Japanese Futari players to chat. Most of the recent topics have focused on a TLB and getting the credits to roll, he probably felt it was time to put all the speculations to rest.

B/c 2ch is the closest thing Japan has to Gamefaqs. There are hoards of complete dipshits that post there... hence, my disbelief that this is Ikeda or anyone from Cave, and someone else getting a rise out of the rest of the Japanese speaking world. Think of all the other crap that's been posted there as fact --that there was an ultra mode in 1.0 for starters.

Also consider that he almost never talks to fans. He popped in at the Cave festival, and was gone in mere seconds, never to be seen again (at least not on that day). He obviously has a strong work ethic, and I'll bet my house he would never say, "I feel like quitting and starting my own company" to anyone while still employed by anyone.

I see your point. However, what the message contains makes perfect sense, which goes contrary to the "getting a rise out of someone" joke-post theory. By all indications there is no TLB and there is no Credit roll in the game. It's been out for almost 2 months (ver 1.5), some Japanese dude would have figured it out by now. It makes sense that they were on a deadline and didn't have time to do a TLB or throw the end credits in there.

It's pretty easy to tell the dipshits from the normal people on 2Ch. The guy who said there was Ultra mode in ver 1.0 months ago, in hindsight, was obviously fooling around (URUTORA KITAAAA!).

Again, I'm not saying it's Ikeda. But I still think there's a good possibility it was someone else who worked on the game, and wishes to remain anonymous.

I would say the chances are minute, at best... but that's me. There is no such thing as a non-rushed schedule in Japan. Everyone works their balls off until their deadline. Why should this game be any different?

Well, ver 1.0 felt like it was only about 80% finished and they plopped that out on the market. They only had a month and half to do ver 1.5. Not a lot of time to completely overhaul Maniac mode's scoring system, tweak Original and add (and playtest) a whole new Ultra mode. I will say I haven't come across one bug in any of the modes yet. It's very solid, and "bug-free". So you can tell they spent time getting the core game modes to play without a hitch.

And btw lots of Japanese games are buggy, rushed-out, and/or semi-finished products. Might have something to do with the unrealistic deadlines the companies set.

You're assuming they didn't have any of that done before 1.0 was released. Very likely they had most tweaks done before 1.0 was out, and wound up putting them in later. Can't imagine how many different prototypes of scoring systems they have for games.

Well, the Master version of ver 1.0 was dated 10/13, it was released 10/27. So that's 2 weeks they could have worked on it, yes. I don't really think they did, however, as ver 1.5 was only made due to poor sales and complaints from players and arcade operators (this is what it says in the letter Cave gave me when I upgraded to ver 1.5). So they would have had to have heard the feedback before they made the changes.

Anyway, if you can find a TLB and/or the Credit roll in the game, I'll shut up. If the Credits aren't in there, there's only one plausible explanation, that they ran out of time.

My point is, you're assuming they said, "it's broken, let's make something new". My assumption is that they had at least SOMETHING like v1.5 just sitting there. They do trial & error when figuring out scoring mechanics. Ikeda said they tried something Progear-ish originally in ESPRade. I'm just saying those changes were probably not concieved and implemented in 6 weeks. I'd bet money the Score Trial Edition score mechanic was fully plug & playable, left over from development of 1.0.

Yeah, I get your point and you may be right about them having most of the stuff for ver 1.5 (sans Ultra mode) already done when 1.0 was released. I was talking more about how there has to be a reason why there aren't any end credits in the game (and no TLB, though that's not quite as significant), and running out of time makes more sense than other theories. Still pretty weird though. I don't know of any other Cave game that doesn't have end credits.

I find this whole mushihime futari episode very strange. It doesn't take long to program end credits. I also can't see why there is no TLB included. They must have been really rushed not to include one.

The Hong Kong version of donpachi has no end credits. However, I honestly do not think this is an official release by Cave. I could be wrong though.

How pressed for time does a dev team need to be that they can't even steal the credit roll code from their other 6 games on the same hardware?

A shame they decided to give the game a weird-ass score system which includes overblown boss milking instead.

If memory serves, someone or other from Cave said in an interview that they didn't even consider the boss milking part of it, and pretty much just overlooked it...I think he said that they didn't think any shmuppers would bother to exploit something so boring, heh heh. I forget if GP's site has that interview or not...or if I even remember it correctly.

THE EXISTING BOSS WASN'T ENOUGH??!?!

This is monumental though - it reaffirms my existing comment that a 1CC superplay of Ultra Mode will be the most insane vid ever produced ever.

EVER.

WOW. I stand corrected. Looks like you have to 1CC Ultra to get the TLB. It would be nice if they showed at least the first bullet pattern though.
