These have been a great help to my fast improvement, Maco, thanks a lot. I'll have a maniac score to submit here shortly enough... I just about got stage 3 figured out in terms of keeping the chain going. I've been working my way up each stage understanding this game... stage 4 and 5 are gonna be a pain... but... must... keep... playing!

Sorry for the double post but I got a score to submit. I dunno if TWE is still active on this, but I'll submit anyway.

56,103,087 on Maniac no rapid fire. Stage 4. PS2

Hope to conquer this score by tons in my next submit.

Yeah, I still update this. Please submit scores in the proper format next time though please! See freddiebamboo's score a few posts up for an example of the correct format. Thanks.

99,563,915 - Aquas - Stage 4 - Maniac Default (PS2)

Jebus! I pretty much lost all my lives on stage 4. Maybe if I didn't bomb on the Stage 3 boss I would've hit the hundo. ...Rats!

And I was just getting a little tense since I was at 90 million after stage 3... Dah! Oh well, this is a nice improvement. My run before this one was only 22 million... cause I didn't even get to stage 3. Heh heh.

At this point I need to train Stage 4 some more and introduce myself to stage 5.

Scores updated. I'm not sure if that's your score or not (the one with the "PORN" in the password), Sven666, so if it is yours and you want it on the charts let me know.

Arrange - Normal - 157,875,221 - G19 - St5

I know this isn't high enough to make the table but I thought I'd post it all the same. I can make it to last boss proper most times but can seem to raise my score much. I never really gave Mushi a look but, as with galuda, the arrange mode is much more fun. I have more than doubled my previous best score of only a few days ago so I must be doing something right.

Hey silpheed is a decent 1cc!

I think the first thing that will improve your score is 1 lifing all the way to the last boss. When you die your chain gets broken. Also read up on the scoring system, check the strategy forum.

Try to get close to enemies and hit them with the A button (shot) whenever you can, this will increase your counter a lot. Maintain your chain with the C button (full-auto) whenever there aren't many enemies on the screen, or when there are small enemies with little health (good for parts of stage 3 in particular).

Just hold A or C when you play, don't tap them (well you can tap C in some spots to maintain your chain). All the tap-tap stuff ideal for scoring in the other modes doesn't apply in Arrange mode. Just proximity and the A shot.

Use W-type for stages 1 and 2 and the first half of stage 3, then switch to S-type for the rest of the game. Hope that helps you!

Much appreciated thanks, and movingtarget too. I'm beginning to prefer Mushi arrange over Espgaluda arrange, which I never thought possible.

How can I switch types mid-game? I thought you were stuck with one particular type all the way through?

Check out the button config for arrange mode, you have an extra button in Arrange that lets you change powers whenever you like. :D

Uhm, I was having some default practice for the meet...

ULTRA default
200,424,141 - AST-LUN-CPF - stage 5 - PS2

Forgot to take a pic, but here's the end of the run:
http://www.arcade-extreme.com/lunardei/ ... 200def.MPG

Yes, I was DAMN NEAR. After the fifth mid-boss I realized that I had 3 lifes in stock, and from that moment on I've wasted way more than necessary. Woha, no problem.
The only problem is that I've recorded the run but I cannot extract properly a file (a VOB IIRC) from the dvd. So I have the entire run on two files, but one is incomplete. Some bits of stage 5 are gone, including the midboss but luckily not the beginning/ending.
Anyway, I'll give the dvd to BR1 and hope for a miracle :D
The worst case scenario is an incomplete video, but you'll be able to watch the 97% of the run anyway.

My god, on the dvd there is a fuckin' FURROW

Unfortunately it's not an ALL video, but a damn impressive run. It's nice to see a video that doesn't consist a lot of no-miss or perfect technique, and shows that a person who's playing it is a human, not computer-like.

Keep up the good work, LUNardei! Hopefully you'll conquer the TLB someday. ;)

Thanks so much guys!
The ALL of course is nearly impossible. And I'm not saying this just because "OMG TLB!", the last pattern is indeed something quite inhuman
Anyway, I was so near yesterday that now I definitely want to get in touch with it in a scoring run. See ya soon Shin Aki, or whatever you're called :P

Great video LUN
Impressive counter on the third stage, guess 200mil+ is possible on that stage.
Ever nailed it perfectly (when the powerup-bouncing is more friendly) ?

Yep, twice, and got a bit less than 200 bucks. Practice mode of course... But you need to get THAT counter (which is indeed impressive!) on the first wing, keep it, survive the random madness of that stupid power-up, and then survive the rest. In short, it happens once every 500 runs or so, in particular because of the counter.
This run was totally screwed up by that power-up, as you can see. Geez, don't let me think about it

Still not thinking about a no-miss, but I've had some nice improvements scoring wise. I also got a random 14 mil ALL some days ago, without 2 no miss bonus and end of the level bonus for the gems, and that was really good!
