I currently run my Japanese Saturn via s-video.
I have a US-based Panasonic regular definition CRT television with a component input (red, green and blue colored inputs). I want to plug the Saturn into this input.
I bought for a few dollars a cable that plugs into the Saturn and ends with a 20-pin "computer-style" output. This output has no matching correlate on my TV. I believe this is an RGB-Scart cable (of the sort available on ebay). When I bought it several months ago, I thought it would just plug into my TV, but I was mistaken. I just saw the words "Saturn RGB" on the listing, and bought it.
I now think that what I need is an RGB-Scart to Component converter, in addition to this cable. Such items go for about 45-50 dollars on ebay. I would plug the cable into the Saturn, and the 20-pin connector into the converter, and the converter into the TV, and I would now have Saturn playing via component.
Is this correct, or should I be getting some other device or cable? This time I am going to ask before buying something.
