Sorry.
The US Supreme court has no jurisdiction in these matters. Take it to The Hague or something. ;)

Oh and MMM's and the professor's vote only lead to a 1 vote margin, still not enough!

MrMonkeyMan's vote was for Guwange before he edited it and is validate in my opinion. He edited it because of GaijinPunch's comment on it:

Vote for it then, please. :)
I remember that issue pretty well, because back then I was afraid that this may lead to confusion in the end. According to this "in case shit" his vote will probably count:

-If you post ANYTHING in this thread (vote or no vote) and edit that post; if you posted a vote in a later post it will still be disqualified. (an exception will be made if the person who voted claims in his voting post that he did not in-fact post his vote in his earlier edited post. Another forum member must defend this claim, which will be accepted as proof [if it passes my judgement])

Nope, but he's coordinating stuff with his team. It might be an accidental count.

oh well, Guwange it is then. :(

Loved the idea of finally having a tie break in the voting stage though.

Lot's of fireworks already and the playing week has yet to begin! Sweet! Can't wait for the apotheose of the tourney! :D

As to be expected for the final week of a great tournament, and for Cave Week to boot. Plenty drama going on and we haven't even started playing yet. ^_-

I'm just repeating this in case it got missed: Guwange has AT LEAST 22 votes.

In order to make posting scores for Guwange a bit easier, I have totally accurately translated the names of the characters:

There is a correction.

Code: Select all

Guwange - 21 votes
Progear - 19 votes
DonPachi - 10 votes
Dangun Feveron - 4 votes
ESP Ra.De. - 4 votes
Limbrooke was added to the wrong cell on my spreadsheet by mistake. 'Mentioned both games in the same post and I skimmed it too quickly

I counted LUN's input as a vote thinking he was Italy's Bargiggia Team by mistake. Again, skimmed too quickly.

The vote extension has been cancelled!

We will be playing Guwange for Cave Week

Edit

Oh right, so I also VOTE for GUWANGE!

Yeah!

I know the intent was honest and fair, but the edit is right there, plain as day. There are no future posts. I think people will be more up-in-arms if I let that one go. He could have left the post and I would have counted it. He could have posted another one and I would have counted it.

Guwange won anyway.

So I should vote in such a way that I'm not able to play? I have to admit: the other four games look really interesting. Why won't Cave release them on console already!

Lame. You're telling me that more people on this forum are set up with Mame + a controller for PC than with a PS2 + Cave games? I seriously doubt it.

Yeah, it sounded a little fishy to me, hence my "vote for it then" comment. It wasn't really directed at MMM, so much as it was to everyone. Was just getting my pom-poms out, that's all.

I agree. As this method of attempting an official vote was brand new, when I set the rules, the intent was solely to catch the people who would try to manipulate the outcome on-the-fly which was obviously rampant on the forum software polls....and since this is the internet and all. What ended up happening these last few weeks is that I only ended up disqualifying people with honest intent and honest mistakes. I will attempt to rewrite the rule set a final time to leave behind for future STGTs. One that allows for whoever runs the vote to say that the voter's intent must be considered before deciding if a rule was violated. All providing we run this method again, of course. At least the option will be available.

For a tourney where score posting is based on honesty, I did not follow that ideal by which to also make voting intent a basis of honesty.

For that, I apologize. To MrMonkeyMan too. Neither of you should have had votes rejected. The ruling was to maintain an example about carefully posting in a voting thread and to stop the whole "give a mouse a cookie, half the forum would want a glass of milk" type of analogy

No, I admit total fault for your vote. I was trying to ensure the vote count numbers right so much I screwed up something as simple as reading context for one case.

"fork progear" wasn't it. I fucked up on
Limbrooke wrote:Since Progear doesn't seem to have the steam in order to win I submit a vote for Guwange!
I cut the screen in half to allow side-by-side windows with Excel to run and input vote data. The entire sentence of every post doesn't stay on-screen with the window size I cut it down to. Coincidently, your bold "Guwange" was cut out of my windows, so when I miscounted the first time, I also did the same thing several times after.
Not my style of an error, I know. my bad. A hard my bad.
