Shooters with STUPID bosses
A previous post about unfair bosses reminded me that on the other hand, many shmups introduce rather stupid/weak ones. The one that comes in mind is the stage 1 boss in Super R-Type for the SNES. It only takes one charge shot to kill him, so he dies without even firing a bullet at you, unless you are playing for the first time and you don't know what to do.

Many of the later bosses of Jikku Oshaberi Parodius. Lame lame lame lame stupid stupid stupid stupid bosses. Makes me not want to play the game because they are so lame (I'm talking to you boss rush).

SiKrAiKeN: While I don't think everyone here -is- a Ninja Turtle, I DO believe everyone here has the potential to be a Ninja Turtle. No doubt.

That bubble boss in Gradius III.
Oh, and that pink walking robot boss in Gunstar Super Heroes. Just jump on top of him and blast away. The challenge here would be to actually receive some damage from this lamer. The final boss sucks balls too (flying crystals or something similar), and while seven force is the coolest boss ever, it is still a cakewalk compared to the one in Gunstar Heroes. If you can cancel nearly any attack with your charge shot, what difference does it make if he attacks or not? Stupid.
Its a shame the game looks so good and has so little to offer.
And as for the Shiki series; I hate fighting flying people in general. But I don`t like PLAYING flying people too.

Both Raiden 1 and 2 have mind numbingly easy first bosses. Just move over a little bit when they fire their one attack pattern that actually has any chance of hitting you, and plug away until they blow up.
We want you, save our planet!

I vote for that @#$%#$ Thunderblade-level boss as one of the stupidest shooter bosses ever...FrederikJurk wrote:Oh, and that pink walking robot boss in Gunstar Super Heroes.
