Couple of Questions
I have a US copy of Gigawing and I have some decent scores saved on my memory card. Pretty soon I'll be getting a Japanese copy and selling my US copy to friend to help him out. When I put in the Japanese copy will it pick up those scores from the US copy or will it be saved as a totally different game?
Also what are the differences between the Dreamcast version of Ikaruga and the Gamecube version?

I have the same feeling, but just to get the show on the road:CIT wrote: Afaik the difference between DC and GC Ikaruga is better framerate on GC and a more extensive pratice mode. I have a feeling somebody else will give you more specific details tho.

DC: better and crisper sound and visuals (through VGA), some (little, non distracting) slowdown
GC: practice mode, less slowdown.
Most people seem to think the DC version is the better one.

Not sure about that. DChas native VGA support, Gamecube has only "forced" VGA possibility afaik.JJG wrote: Can't you do VGA with the GC version as well though?
This might result in different image quality, but that's just a guess from my part. Someone else probably know more about this.
edit: some opinions on it in this thread.

How is it possible that a system released several years earlier has better video output than the GC?oxtsu wrote:Yes, resolution is identical between them. However, Dreamcast has a little better video output than Gamecube. If you want the perfect image get the DC version. GC is only a few hairs away though.

How is it possible that old "vinyl" records released many years earlier have better sound than CD?FRO wrote:How is it possible that a system released several years earlier has better video output than the GC?oxtsu wrote:Yes, resolution is identical between them. As for the DC > GC issue here, it's all been a matter of choices. Sega chose to include true VGA possibility on DC, Nintendo didn't chose the same for Gamecube. The choice to whether or not include the ability to do native VGA is the deciding factor. If Nintendo had wanted it then GC would have had it.

About the Saves:
Even with no experience in the field of foreign game compatability (if you can have experience in such a field) I would guess not.
About the Games: Like I said before. The GC game might be a little thin in some places, it isn't skimpy in the gameplay, which is where it counts, so I keep mine and it is my prize GC shooter (The only other competition is Chaos Field...Heh.)
