Very little of interest for me in the last direct. Very disappointing. The Duskbloods and that's pretty much it. I've had this thing for about 5 wks now and it hasn't been switched on in at least 2 of those. I love the h/ware, it feels much sturdier handheld than Switch 1 and I love how it looks, but there is nothing to play on it aside from the Switch 1 games I own.

I barely felt the Direct compared to the XBOX show and SGF main event. You could tell Nintendo assumes their fans to buy everything anyways. They hardly even tried to sell their big titles.

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

Still waiting to see if these newly announced third party games will be game key card or not

But finally, a release slot for Fire Emblem and Xenoblade coming next year (plus maybe Switch 2 editions of 2 and 3 will come with the DLC built in...). Might pull the trigger ahead of the price increase

Just tried the Starfox demo and deleted it before I finished the tutorial. I've played better indies.
WTAF is going on with Nintendo? Everything I'd play bar maybe Bananza is mid as fuck. Metroid Prime 4 was a joke.

So besides an upgrade the Switch 2 doesn't really change that much for shmups including input lag? Was considering one just for the bigger screen for my eyes, but spending all that extra money on joycons with a real D-Pad and the cost adds up quickly for limited gaming time per week.

The dock is the issue.
It's adding lag. Stuff like the Psikyo games, Capcom Arcade Stadium and Ghosts n'Goblns Resurrection are very different portably.
Easily 1:1 with PS5.
I haven't noticed anything too egregious with the Livewire Cave/RSG ports while docked, but the other games I mentioned suffer quite a bit.

I see, so handheld mode is still recommended for lower input lag. Could be my benefit, I would be using handheld mode almost 100%.

Potable mode is at least one frame less than docked. Also, avoid USB arcade sticks with Switch. There's actually less lag using a BT controller.
