Same with Saidaioujou, so, I actually wonder with current Xenia Canary... if it is also slightly better!~

For me, since updating definitely less lag on SDOJ!

I find SDOJ way too difficult on Xenia with the lag. Hate to say it but the best way to play the game is the exA version. Arcade version I just find very visually noisy and messy.

Did you try it with latest Xenia Canary? Do not know why, but for me, it is a big difference! I had never played SDOJ in Arcade, but yes, with ROM in RetroArch... it is a bit noisy and hard to read. Too bad EXA is maybe even less accessible to most of us, than even arcade, lol. But, if ever go to Japan, will want to try it!~

does anyone know how to avoid the strange 'popping' and 'cracking' sound in Futari that is tied to the sound effects volume? i checked a couple of xenia replays and i could hear the sound there, so i know it's not just me.

Try bumping this higher:

Code: Select all

apu_max_queued_frames = 4
If we're watching the same replays then it sounds a lot like dropped audio frames to me. Start at the minimum (4 frames) and work your way up until you can find a sweet spot with no crackles and reasonable audio delay. If you're unlucky you might have to set it crazy high but at least it's not destroying your ears :)

Hey guys, has anyone tried Mushihimesama Futari with Xenia Edge? It’s mostly based on Canary:
https://github.com/has207/xenia-edge

I play on a very old and weak office laptop (Acer Swift 3, i5-8265U, UHD 620, 8 GB), and I get better performance (a higher framerate closer to 60 fps) than with the latest Canary Experimental build using Performance Mode, at the cost of negligible extra glitches. It also doesn’t require any setting changes to launch, unlike Canary (protect_zero = false). DLCs can be loaded just as easily.

However, I do feel the game runs very fast. I don’t remember exactly how it ran on my Xbox 360—I sold it a long time ago—but it feels like the speed might not be very accurate.

God we need modern ports of the Otomedius games. Maybe they'll be included in some kind of Parodius collection.

Can anyone get the x360 version of Caladrius running in the emulator? It shows me the MOSS logo, but then gets stuck at the white screen. Trying it because im curious of the original balance, which wasn't ported for the Blaze release.

Looks to be unsupported as of now. Reproduced the same issue with all three branches of Xenia (Master/Canary/Edge).

Your easiest reference is compare to YouTube video!~

Futari is super popular so no matter which mode/type 100% you can find YouTube video compare. Just be aware that because of arcade hardware slowdown, each run will be different... so probably best run game on Original difficulty (since less bullet = less hardware slowdown) and compare the speed at stage start.

Or: get arcade ROM and emulate and compare there! That way you can control how run start and make more accurate comparison between that and your Xenia!

That's a shame. Thanks.

Has anyone ever figured this out X_X?!~

I know some people seem to not have this problem... somehow... but I could never get this working. Audio always stop after around 30s of start? I tried changing audio engine thingie in configuration to all options and none fix it for me... either there is no audio, or audio start but stop after 30s. No sure if something else is causing it (using latest Canary)!~

That kept happening to me with the Japanese version of Raiden Fighters but oddly enough not the US version.
