i feel like it's easy to overstate how "easy" senjin is... novice & casual difficulties are very easy, type-d (as a ship and leader) is defensively overpowered, & assist mode essentially gives you a double autobomb. but without those crutches there is a bit of survival difficulty i think, & if you explore different ways of playing or try to build rank or do any amount of scoring theres an incredible amount of potential challenge. (for example, looking @ the runs that are up on youtube, the majority of them are novice/casual, assist on, type-d leader, type-d ship 90% of the time, zero rank 90% of the time, no TLB, practically no attempt at scoring...)

Agreed muzakefron, most people who have played the game can find a difficulty that’s not easy. I enjoyed trying to 1cc Original difficulty with no assist (but also on the no TLB route) as much as any other good CAVE(-adjacent) shmup. And the Expert difficulty is far out of reach for me.

Re: M2/Compile Heart's Zaleste announced for 2025
Perhaps not a big surprise, but Compile Heart has confirmed Zaleste is delayed to a new 2026 release window in Japan "in order to further improve the quality of the game". https://www.compileheart.com/news/?num=20251106
I have to say I agree with the posts on the last page that the game has given me a "kinda generic mid-to-late-2000s doujin bullet hell-ish impression", as Steven accurately put it. Wonder if that's part of this delay, to further refine things so it doesn't look quite so... forgettable.

Surprise? No. Disappointed? Yes. Also: they delay, delay, delay... and website still list only PS4/PS5/Switch... no Steam???
It cannot be that hard? If delay..... at least add Steam too!~

So it's not just Aleste Branch, Ubusuna, and a possible console port of Senjin/Senxin Aleste that's kept in the shadows, but this one too.

Sometimes I think it's a miracle that M2 finishes any game at all (thank goodness for Night Striker Gear).
To be honest, there doesn't look like there's much special about this game right now and feels very doujin. It is probably better for them to come up with something neat about it or cook up something more impressive-looking... Or hey, how about actually finishing Aleste Branch instead of diverting your attention to another Aleste-branded bullethell knockoff??

It's not just Aleste Branch that's been my white whale. Ubusuna as well. That one's been kept in the dark for a long time now.

I'd love a port of SenXin someday, but I'm not holding my breath. There's just been no indication of that existing, and M2 can barely finish the things that DO exist.

In fairness, they have been kind of preoccupied with actual paying work for Taito and Konami.

But Aleste Branch and Ubusuna? I've been holding out on those two for a very long time now!

Haha, yes, I feel your sentiment >.<!~
I was really, really, looking forward to this, but sadly seems we need to wait.
But, two other STG's I'm really looking forward to (Marras & Strelitzia) already have their Steam pages up; and wow.
I know, not the same, but... they scratch a similar kind of... craving O_O"...
And... hopefully they release soon!~

Didn't know any of those games but Strelitzia must be the first shmup from the basque country in history, and only for that is getting my money the moment it appears. It even claims basque as one of the included languages, how cool is that? Would love to know where they (or he?) are located.

Yes... Marras I think for me, probably my #1 that I look forward to!
I like the atmosphere, and, already have very good feelings that the music will be super too! I really enjoyed Gunvein music a lot too!~
Also there is something about that Ketsui ship with the options behaving like that... that feeling....
