As a slight reminder, some versions of the 360E are not moddable.
although the earlier mentioned softmod does work on it, but it's not really practical to use as a "normal" solution
Recently, the BadUpdate exploit was improved so that the exploit process is much more reliable and doesn't take as long. (around a minute at most) That makes it kind of practical for normal use, if not ideal, and if you want something better, the original author of BadUpdate announced that he is working on a full softmod, although it will probably take quite a while before he finishes and releases it.

Well, space is only half the problem @_@"...

As said, need to be mobile. In last 10 years, hubby and I have moved 9 times... it is very tiring.

In that time, we sold much, threw away even more, from fatigue.

R79 wrote: Sat Aug 30, 2025 2:25 pmMy personal view is gaming on a laptop is just cold and sterile, unless you're actually playing say a fighting game competitively over the internet. But each to their own.
Haha, well, as you said: "each to their own." For me, I find a certain comfort being close to screen, keyboard, and everything.

My laptop is 17" and it works for me perfect for the way I play.

We also have quite a powerful speaker next to my laptop, so I use it for gaming too to really feel everything that is happening.

Also, my laptop keyboard is very, very good (Cherry MX Ultra Low Profile).

It is one of the best I have ever used for STG, because super low travel with very mechanical click & feel. Definitely not sterile.

Thank you very much for all the information you have given!!~

For now, I will stick to my laptop. I like my gaming desk and setup, and definitely no space for any more hardware anytime in current life situation and the future too. But at least I know, if somehow, things change, I know where to look haha. But, these days, I really try to just own less physical things. I like my clutter-free life. And that is why I have big focus on just using my laptop for everything. Have one good laptop, and make it carry my world. If we had space and money for bigger setup, maybe we buy the Exa Arcadia :p if we ever win lottery haha!~

For Faith,

----------
I was watching an episode of Oprah back in the day and she said, "You use 20% of what you own, 80% of the time" -- so the remaining 80% of what you own isn't being used whatsoever as it's just material/physical "stuff." Strange but entirely true!

So yes, I understand the concept of living with less & doing away with most physical stuff (as that type of concept/idea works well if you move into/live in a "tiny house" setup where space is at a "super premium" and it all doesn't go to waste as you really have to "downsize" and only use what you really need and not what you want, wishfully). Of course, some "tiny houses" can easily set you back a whopping $200k or even $300k easily! At the end of the day, it's just a matter of how one wants best maximize their "living space" to the fullest extent, expense-wise, with a "tiny house" setup as it is (perhaps one with enough room to include a single Japanese candy cab at best would be ideal or just settle/resort to using a portable supergun setup instead & relax with some of your favorite prized arcade jamma pcbs and "call it a day").
----------

I see that the MegaMillions jackpot that was drawn Saturday night on 8/30/2025 wasn't won (although 4 people from California matched 5 out of 6 numbers to win a whopping $1.1+ million prize each -- still not a bad payday with a mere $2.00 spent on it if you stop to think about it with two winners from the Bay Area and the other two remaining winners hailing from Southern California according to the news media). Tonight's 9/01/2025 drawing for the MegaMillions jackpot should easily be in the $1.1 Billion dollar range quite easily (yep, news media has confirmed that it's, indeed, $1.1 Billion for tonight's jackpot drawing -- the largest MM jackpot ever was at $2.4 Billion back in 2022).

----------
Of course, the odds of winning tonight's MM jackpot is "1 out of 292+ million" -- it's been said that you have a better chance of "getting hit by lighting" than winning the lottery.
----------

If you & your hubby win the MM jackpot, you both could quit your jobs, buy a bigger house fully furnished and still get that highly desired Exa-Arcadia cab with every single game made for it (and still have plenty of "leftover change to retire early") -- how about that, hmmm?

The real question to consider is, if you do win big, to take the "one lump sum payment" or go for the "30 annual payments" option instead? Most jackpot winners opt for the "one lump sum payment" but end up getting less than half of the entire winning jackpot amount thanks to Uncle Sam taking a whopping amount for tax purposes. It is what it is at the end of the day.

Back to the original DDP-SDOJ topic/thread at hand.

There is a Cave CV1000 multi PCB that runs this game fine, plus all the other ones as an option!

There's a South Korean produced Crown Arcade "Raspberry Pi to Jamma" jamma-based pcb (with an included beefy on-board cooling fan) that uses a Raspberry Pi 4 + RGB-Pi OS v4 front end + Final Burn Neo arcade emulation that can play the DDP-SDOJ rom that was released back in late December of 2022 (using an accelerated R-Pi 4 with "run ahead" optimized to run SDOJ as intended) that plays in true tate mode on a low-res 15.7kHz arcade monitor setup/candy cab (using the candy cab's on-board control panel to play it as it should be played). It's considered the cheapest way/method to play DDP-SDOJ via the candy cab/supergun route without "breaking the bank" nowadays.

----------
There are several methods of playing SDOJ properly (short of buying a genuine and real Cave CV-1000 jamma pcb of SDOJ and "calling it a day" for peace of mind). It is what it is.

Buying ageing CV1000 hardware "for peace of mind" is kind of a wild take considering the age and fragility :)

Faith, just a note - Xbox 360 discs can't be read in a normal DVD drive. You need a special drive with special software to dump it. So if your plan is to emulate the Xbox 360 version, just keep in mind even if you buy an original disc there's a good chance you'd still have to download an ISO and wouldn't be able to rip it yourself.

*smacks own forehead*

Thank you so much for letting me know >.<!~

At least know to not bother trying that but I did search and some people say there is one model of DVD drive that can read it but quite hard to find.
