I did ask about this when chasing up my Dariusburst CS order (which arrived! They just didn't send any comms about my specific order) and they can't say when the Switch Ray'z is coming, just that they are preparing production. So I don't think it's happening soon.

Spring! So 2 full years after the JP release at best. Imagine telling your customers this instead of needing a website to prod you about it and communicate it instead.

All outstanding pre-orders due, erm, by the end of the year. Keep waiting guys

Yeesh. I'm grateful I ended up going for the Japanese version even if I had to do that obnoxious prime day sale for R-Gear. I knew Strictly Limited would be later, but I didn't think they'd be 2+ years later.

Getting the fully patched version is the only reason I've held on. I know a handful of releases have shipped with bugs so it's not just delays customers are fed up with. I don't recall what was on the Turrican PS4 patches but pretty sure the Switch versions didn't get any.

If you want it, don't hesitate! This sucker'll be real expensive one day.
Unfortunately, only the basic PS4 disc was released. And double unfortunately, the basic version is sold out.

Like an idiot, I'm still waiting for the super fancy collector's edition... I'm never ordering
CEs from SLG again. I got basic Eschatos, no problems.

To anyone who didn't get the bonus (has Strictly Limited even shipped the Switch version yet?), R-Gear is now available for purchase on the Japanese eShop (440yen).

Nope, still no news from Strictly on the Switch version

Rando eshop listing is probably about right for it to be honest, it's just a curio. I wonder if it'll show up in other regions too...

Having played it and knowing exactly what it is, I seriously wonder and rather doubt if I'd pay 440 yen for it if it hadn't come with Ray'z for free already.

I mean, that's $3 USD. I think that's a fair price for a historical curiosity, limited as it might be.

That. I mean, we're used to seeing DLC that costs that much or more just to get an in-game character outfit, or change a menu narration voice, etc. A whole level of an unreleased game? Feels like a fair price to pay to check out that curiosity, even if it would be nice to just get it in the base game.

Still annoying that Taito loves their Amazon Prime exclusive DLC releases with their compilations, but good to see this one finally becoming available to those who want it (without having to deal with Strictly Limited Games for a long delayed, if it ever releases, limited edition set).

Oh shit it's finally happening - Strictly Limited have announced the Switch version is coming 8th July

Pre-orders opened: 31st July 2022, release scheduled for Q1 2023

October 2023: delayed to Q1 2024

March 2024: delayed to June 2024

July 2024: delayed to... who knows, this was a generic apology e-mail

It's been more than 2 years since they last mentioned this release on Switch, disappointed but not surprised to see this via social media instead of an e-mail. Looking forward to finally having this and being able to wash my hands of Strictly Limited.

Oh wow, it's a miracle! That's one of the two games I cancelled in late 2023 (because they were taking too long). The other one was Akai Ito which I don't expect them to ever ship since it's still at 72% stock.

God damn that sure took a needlessly long time. Now maybe Crimzon Clover and stuff will ship from Worst Press Games, provided they don't get sued out of existence.

Yeah that one's probably not happening. It says "ROMs are still being tested by developer and platform owner" but that's extremely highly questionable since there should be no changes from the Japanese version ROM from 3 years ago aside from swapping the default language to English. I heard the English translation of Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro is like Google Translate from 2010 levels of unacceptably bad, so be ready for it if you're not planning on reading the (very difficult) Japanese script. Unless they are redoing the crappy translation, which I think is not likely, even if it probably needs it, I don't think there should be any reason to sit there checking ROMs that have been finalized for almost half a decade.

More likely is that it's done and Strictly haven't updated the page (or checked in with the dev!). Ray'z had been "preparing production" for 3 years. They don't care about giving courtesy updates at this point, the backlog is seemingly drip-feeding out until they either get them all done or they fold the business.

I don't think I've seen them hit anywhere close to their original estimate with the fancy extra stuff editions. But given they can't even get plain ol' games out, good luck - you're gonna need it
