First official localization, too!

For cj iwakura,

How's the overall 4K UHD presentation of "Macross: Do You Remember Love"?

----------
In one particular scene of a Itano-stylized missile barrage, there's a lone Budweiser beer can being used as one of those missiles complete with accompanying flame and smoke trails galore (if you do a "frame by frame" analysis of it) -- blink and you'll miss it type of "tongue in cheek" low-ball humor/parody at it's best with the animators that worked on the hand-drawn animation cels of "Macross: DYRL".
----------

Many moons ago at my Software Etc game store (that eventually became a Gamestop store), I'd periodically check the bargain bin and lo behold, a single brand new and sealed VHS tape of Macross was priced for sale at a mere $3.99 usd. I immediately bought it and hurried home to check it out. Upon opening it up, it turned to be the fabled "Macross: DYRL" anime film dubbed with English voiceovers and presented in cheap-ass recorded SLP (Super Long Play) to save on production costs rather than using an SP (Standard Play) VHS cassette. Still have it to this very day.

Suncoast Pictures Company (aka FYE nowadays) sold the 2003 released Animego DVD set of Super Dimensional Fortress Macross anime series brand new for $99.99 usd and bought it as it was the first boxed set (out of two) but didn't buy the second boxed set for completeness. Was curious to see how it compared to Harmony Gold's version of Robotech Macross -- it sure is quite different, indeed.

I also grabbed this. Absolutely stunning set! One step closer to the original Macross series getting a blu ray release with English subtitles.

Maybe someday we’ll get Mospeada as well.

Yes, Genesis Climber Mospeada anime series on Blu-ray format or even 4K format definitely would be ace in my book. Or even a proper sequel would be even better considering that's it's long overdue ever since it's original 1983 Japanese TV airwave debut. The Legioss mecha toys from Gakken were legendary.

Kirby's Pinball Land was pretty formative for me, and I always relegatored the original title to rental status back in the day, but hot damn if I don't get a hankering to play it now and then.
PInball Revenge of the Gator was one of the gameboy games that were available right from the start in Germany and many people here owned it at that time. I never did, and it was only a couple of bucks in some Japanese Ebay store (Japan4U?)...

Finally checked out the 4K UHD disc of Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? anime movie. Wow, the "frame-by-frame" restoration is quite something else compared to the 2016 Blu-Ray release of the very same Macross film -- it's like "night & day" in how crystal clear, razor sharp and richly detailed the animation really is to fully appreciate it nowadays in 2025. Makes me wonder how long it took to do it properly -- not to mention the time, patience and countless yen spent to get it done as a labor of love and reverence of it all (of course, to see it as originally intended on the Japanese silver screen presented in 35mm theatrical film format back in the Summer of 1984 must have been quite something to watch/experience/behold). This bundled set comes with a 4K & BR disc set + a 24 page booklet packed with some cool tidbits and general info on the 4K restoration project of the legendary 1984 Macross film (it'd sure be nice if the booklet could be translated into English).

----------
It wouldn't be until Harmony Gold released Robotech on American TV airwaves back in Spring Break Easter Week of April 1985 grand debut that Yanks would catch a brief glimpse of Macross with the little-seen introductory "Code Name: Robotech" video that aired along with the very first Robotech episode that aired afterwards showcasing it and the rest is history.
----------

There's even a bonus inclusion of Macross 2012: Flashback OVA circa 1987 to gloss over as well. This particular anime film was the basis/inspiration for Banpresto/NMK's Super Dimesional Fortress Macross arcade stg released in the Japanese game centers back in 1992 (not to mention that American arcade distributor Fabtek did sell/distribute Super Space Fortress Macross arcade jamma pcb kits stateside in late 1992 as well -- if you were an arcade gamer & anime fan during that time period, it was quite awesome to play the arcade Macross stg in the "Silver Age of Arcades" era). The outer UHD case box features all new artwork done by Haruhiko Mikimoto which is a cool visual nod/tribute that's befitting towards the famous Macross film itself.

If you're an anime fan like myself, do not miss the opportunity to check out this new 4K release of SDF Macross: DYRL? bundled set -- it's well-worth revisiting through "nostalgia-tinted lenses" nowadays.

JP Sega Saturn, Gundam Side Story games I, II and III, in jewel case version.

Still growing my stupid collection of buying as many of them as I can. Taking a picture for the 80th copy : 51 copies of Side Story I, 26 copies of Side Story II, and 3 copies of Side Story III.
The latter is definitely one of the rarest game on the system ; one of my copy is missing its spine card unfortunately, but still really glad to have 3 of them !

Enjoy the stupidity 8)

Up to 3 copies now! I remember doing a little detective work for you like... 100 years ago and realizing what a bastard finding one of those was gonna be. Anyway, I know what your family is gonna write on your tombstone now. :)

If you deal with reports or forms saved in XPS format, this tool is your new go-to. I stumbled upon it while trying to generate PDFs for a municipal documentation project, and it’s honestly amazing. No cluttered ads or confusing menus—just upload your XPS file and convert it in one click. 🖐️ You can even adjust page parameters to fit what you need, whether it’s A4 or US Letter. I’ve used it multiple times already and it’s always accurate. Here’s the link I’ve bookmarked https://www.coolutils.com/online/XPS-to-PDF it’s truly a reliable online service that simplifies work without compromising quality.
Ordered a set of Agatha Christie books. Hope that in a few days I will be able to grab it.

Thank you for the kind words GP.
Yes I remember I asked you to search for those beasties while in Japan, guess I'm the only guy in the world interested in them. Hope to reach the 100 mark before turning a 50yo boy, but this becomes harder and harder everyday...

I saw one or two in Japan when I went. But I found with the heat factor and me dripping with sweat I really wasn't in the mood for getting into more complicated stuff than I had to. Shopping in Japan by CD spine is a laborious task if you don't read Japanese especially when they stack games at ankle level with no room to turn around
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Even when you can read the characters, practically everything's in highly reflective plastic under fluorescent lights /oldmanrant
