Yeah, I absolutely love that game's pixels! So much attention to detail. NMK had some great artists for rugged military STGs. P47, Mustang, Harrier, Gunnail, and Thunder Dragon 2 all have a distinct balance of gritty industry, reserved landscapes, and tiny pixel lifeforces. I get the feeling they were inspired by SameSameSame's inter-stage vignettes.

The first two stages of P47 are really nice, especially for a 1988 game!!
Damn Gunnail looks beautiful (at least to look at) maybe it's their most beautiful work!
But also "the helicopter" in Thunder Dragon, certainly unique in its appearance.

So many details! Too bad they get lost in the frenetic action :? but above all i didn't expect it from "minor" teams like these. WOW!

NMK have made a lot of really fun games. Butasan, Saboten Bombers, Thunder Dragon 1 and 2, and Gunnail are all worth playing.

My favorite games of theirs are not shmups at all, but Saboten Bombers and Butasan. Either of those could be remade today in a modern engine as an absolutely hilarious party game.

it's more like browsing through the most scattered and obscure arcades.

I tried Thunder Dragon 2, definitely better than the first, and strangely i made it with my first Credit up to stage 5! Then there was a power-spike of difficulty and from then on i used the credits...(stage 6 and its Boss are easier than stage 5 -_-)
I actually have no idea how to get through some more advanced sections without dying, but i feel like i should have used more bombs, because the game is quite generous with them.

If the game didn't have those horrible blue bullets and a few little touches here and there, it would have been much more successful and wouldn't have given that "B-Series Game" impression that a Raiden or Image Fight don't give.
But this also applies to other titles from these minor teams... which seem more ruined by small wrong choices than by real big mistakes (white bullets in USAAF Mustang and Thunder Dragon 1 is an example).

However, i like that the bosses have a timing of the patterns, and that if you follow "the flow" or "the rhythm" you can advance easily, but if you lose it once, you have practically thrown away all of the Credit's lives.
This goes among the ACA/AA absolutely.
very funny that you can shoot the writings

God damn, my dream pick right thurr. Image Image I'm gonna wait on the ACA standalones, but were they not a thing, I'd get this for DC or Thunder Fox alone. Never mind both! I've not played Warrior Blade, but it's always looked rad and has some good buzz, so I'm happy about that too.

Actually I didn't want to add anything at all to the link at first. But then I edited the post. Cause we all know it's about which games will eventually be part of the ACA line-up

I just don't understand why Milestones 1-3 are only on Switch.

Nice. Not a game I've played or genre I'm all that familiar with, but it always gets good buzz from good peeps, that one. Fuckin hell what a name though /obligatory

I hope we'll see Marchen Maze this year too, another Namco title that fits the above to a T.

Nice, this is a game I've really been looking forward to trying. ACA finally moving into the really interesting yet-unported Namco territory!

I've only given Hamster's trailer a watch, and I want folks who are more familiar with it to let me know if I've got it right:

1) Dorobo-chan's only defence is to drop his bulging loot sack around a corner and have it casually murder any pursuing rozzers that close in on its master
2) I'm gonna be stricken with the 'beetus if I play this for more than three minutes

The most Namco thing ever.

I like how one of the pickups is the Mr Do bouncy ball, in a game with Dig Dug enemies.

When we'd act up back in Kindergarten ("being ornery", as the teachers liked to say), they'd toss us into the tinkle pit. I didn't realize there was a game about it.

Tinkle Pit, what a name - presumably it never got localised because it brought up too many traumatic memories of music festival toilets? Right up there with Nuts & Milk anyway!

Looks like Tinkle Pit will wrap up the NA-1 hardware. Hamster started releasing NA-1 games in January and has now gone through Cosmo Gang the Puzzle, Emeraldia, Exvania, F/A, and Tinkle Pit. Presumably that's it, since they surely aren't going to do a Japanese-only quiz game (Bakuretsu Quiz Ma-Q Dai Bouken), and Super World Court tennis also feels a little unlikely.

The NA-2 (a cousin to the NA-1) is also almost done. If we exclude quiz games, only Knuckleheads (the kinda kooky 2D fighter) remains. Seems like a sure thing for AA before too long.

Probably meant to be twinkle, but who knows. The song Silver Bells was originally going to be Tinkle Bells until the writer was told it had a double meaning.

It seems The Outfoxies is on NB-2, so it might actually be some months before Hamster is in a position to release it. At least I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to first work with NB-1 (i.e. NebulasRay). I'm just imagining what commentary it will inspire about the development of Smash Bros., and anything Suda Goichi developed after he learned of it.

Ha, just in the past week I was trying to remember whether that was already released on AA and actually had to look it up.
