WTF?!! where did that bullet come from?!
whhaa. i cant see!"
my usual reactions.

still i LOVE this game...
Psychic peopls ftw!
Cigs is right, you're Wrong about Batrider (OMG Heretic!!11) so I shouldn't say, but I remember someone mentioning in the past that Bakraid's bullets become *literally* invisible at points due to hardware limitations...even with the generous amount of extends that's pretty weak.Surprised to see someone bash Bakraid over graphics - it may have fewer visual effects than most of their games, but damn - it's absolutely crystal clear with what's going on.
That`s why there are so many of them to choose from. I usually select a single ship because I want to get used to it - some are extremely fast as Miyamoto or that...blonde....sunglasses whatever dude (the one next to strawman I suppose) but others can be REALLY slow but have huge, screen clearing weapons. I suppose using a slow ship will get you in a lot of trouble later on since you will have to lure all those aimed shots to have a remot chance of survivingGungriffon Geona wrote:I can see the bullets all the time, it's just some of the ships are really hard to control because they move rediculously fast. That's not to say I don't like it. I love the game, it's just some of the ships aren't to my playstyle.
EH?!? HORY crap, I do not remember ever seeing that! Methinks I have a weekend project now...thanks for the tipFrederikJurk wrote:You bomb flamingoes in Batrider too, don`t you know? Level 1, destroying the shed before you tip over the huge sign. That´s actually another thing I like about Batrider - it`s self-references, Black Heart, Bashinet and all those other freaks. Not that I ever played Mahou or something but I still like that "all-stars" setup.Soldato J wrote:
Plus in Garegga you can nuke flamingos = teh WIN
But seriously, a resounding chime-in for Batrider--I love it
[shudders with gleeful anticipation] I can hardly wait!! Will I get a wonderful point roll for nuking them with the Snail?FrederikJurk wrote:Okay, just remember to destroy the house behind the big sign AND THEN tip over the big sign, it will then fall on the house and birds will come out. Quite hectic to time it right and not being killed by those nasty flying snipers.
Offhand I can't recall ever having that sort of thing happen, at least when playing on MAME...even if it does happen, it's at least the fault of the hardware and not sadistic designers who you can almost hear shouting a Chipp Zanuff-esque "Find-uh-me!" in your ear as you play.Neon wrote:I remember someone mentioning in the past that Bakraid's bullets become *literally* invisible at points due to hardware limitations...
Just to clarify, you don't bomb the birds. Destroy the building first, then the sign and the birds come out. Then you just shoot them.FrederikJurk wrote:Okay, just remember to destroy the house behind the big sign AND THEN tip over the big sign, it will then fall on the house and birds will come out. The bullets don't go invisible in mame. I played the ROM quite a bit before I bought the board and was surprised when it happened. To my knowledge (since I've never played completely through the advanced course), it only happens twice; once after blowing up the first form of the water levels boss and on the big tank at the end of the railroad stage.BulletMagnet wrote:Offhand I can't recall ever having that sort of thing happen, at least when playing on MAME...even if it does happen, it's at least the fault of the hardware and not sadistic designers who you can almost hear shouting a Chipp Zanuff-esque "Find-uh-me!" in your ear as you play.Neon wrote:I remember someone mentioning in the past that Bakraid's bullets become *literally* invisible at points due to hardware limitations...![]()

Ah, well... you don`t get as much point as bombing the stuff at the very beginning of the stage and the underground subway shortly after. It certainly isn`t as crucial as in Garegga I am afraid. Either way you can still bomb the birds but your bomb stock will be empty since the aforementioned bombing spots. In a replay Icarus picked up many little fragments from the cars after the shed and bombed them with it in short bursts; I am not so much into the game to tell much difference here.Soldato J wrote: [shudders with gleeful anticipation] I can hardly wait!! I will save all my sheckels (read:bomb fragments) for the glorious nuking I plan on giving those birds. Just for old times sake, you understand (I am NOT sick!)FrederikJurk wrote:Ah, well... you don`t get as much point as bombing the ...stuff at the very beginning of the stage and the underground subway shortly after.
