Might be as hard as using a fucking trackball for Battle Bakraid.

Trackball? Wuss!
I was playing DOJ earlier today, struggling to reach level 4 as always. Then, I realised! I just wasn't being Man Enough about it. I realised that playing on defaults for survival is only one step from wearing a dress and worrying about chipping my nails playing Puzzle Bobble. Not good enough, I would be taunted by children, and women would laugh at my weak skills from afar.
So, I got an old leaf spring joystick from a ZX Spectrum, glued it to my knee, and used one of those head mounted prodding sticks people with no arms need to type. Then I jacked the difficulty up to max and am now hardcore. For 20 seconds at a time, including loading.
Of course, in response to this whole sorry topic (and yes I'm quite aware of which comments were tongue in cheek):
This "you're not playing properly if you don't chain", "loop 2 is where the game really starts", and "I'm so wonderful that only very difficult challenges me *bragbrag*" mentality is just a stones throw from the 11 year olds on Halo 2 screaming "I'M SO GONNA OWN U!!!!!!11". Save the ego for something that matters outside of a few thousand people in Japan and on the internet, and cut everyone some slack if they just want to play at their own level. I've been within the top 5 in the world at a game before now (and we're talking tens of thousands of players in the rankings here), I never used to strut around bragging about it to the other players, and I never used to try to make people feel bad about not being world class. It's not big, and it's not clever.
