I'm sorry, but as that cab is, it's really ugly IMO.bloodflowers wrote:Hm - can't find a better place to mention this since rotating screens were mentioned:

I think that's the easiest screen rotation -ever- without exception. The seller ended the item early because I bribed him to, should be here next weekPop some new sticks in, maybe paint the panel+monitor case black, job done.

Oh, indeed it is. It's grotesque in fact, and the bright red makes it look like an old disused fairground ride. However, the following things are all true: paint is cheap, the monitor rotation is incredibly convenient for home use (the main reason I bought it), the board bay is easy to reach (whole front bottom panel opens), the screen is well placed and angled, and the physical footprint is very compact.stuffmonger wrote:I'm sorry, but as that cab is, it's really ugly IMO.bloodflowers wrote:Hm - can't find a better place to mention this since rotating screens were mentioned:

Couple of reasons.stuffmonger wrote:Why not just get an egret? They all look pretty badass, and are all simple to rotate.
1) I don't like white. They look like kitchen appliances.
2) The rotate isn't as easy as the metal mutant, by a long shot. With some other candy cabs the rotate is a royal PITA.
3) They're expensive. I'm paying $300, and that includes delivery to our door.
4) The footprint is considerably bigger - it'd have to be a pretty damn small candy cab to get into our lounge due to a 90 degree turn at the door. I do have a 29" candy clone (the Touhoucab), I had to dismantle much of it and take our front door off it's hinges to get it in. This is a doorway that even Space Gun went through just fine (minus control panel).
5) Along with (and making worse) 4) above, this is the big dealbreaker - sitting down to play arcade games feels wrong to me. And I don't like Sanwa sticks.
