Freaky...
ahhh, Dogs on Acid....I used to go there once...I'm more of a DNB Arena man now but damn i can see the parallels between this site and thiers....DOA is a bit too technical and scene crazy(Arena is just scene crazy), but its a cool forum though..AFXisatwin wrote:Main thing that is a plus on this forum: no cliches. But the only forum I've found that comes close to this one (in terms of quality posts) is dogsonacid.com. I'm sure there are many more though.
sidenote: The search function is just fine and dandy. What problems are ya'll having with it?
I agree.....It feels a bit cluttered to me, can't explain it but it does. I just hang out in the production forums mostly. The DOA(from my experience mind you) production forums seemed way too technical and dense for someone looking to get into making breakbeats. Maybe I should pay it another visit as i havent been around there since 2004 but damn, its like the talk was all max dsp and sound engineering shit....Arena just seems a bit more accessible for beginners....AFXisatwin wrote:I know your never scurred, but come on man. dnb arena is one of the WORST web forums i've been too.
It seems like there are a lot of immature users on the arena. And its bright yellow too.I agree.....It feels a bit cluttered to me, can't explain it but it does. hahah..True...all true...Plus, its not hard to make quality Drum and Bass.....I tend to avoid trying to be all masturbatory with the production techniques and just stick to the script when i'm making tracks...AFXisatwin wrote:It seems like there are a lot of immature users on the arena. Producing dnb music is totally alien to me. I enjoy listening to it, and have thought about making some, but it would probably do my head in.
Actually, the only thing that bugs me about this forum are the stupid cliched opinions that are occasionally expressed, though they're pretty rare and easy to ignore. Otherwise, I like this forum a lot. Its good to read impressions and get opinions on new games that don't get covered anywhere else and high score competition is always nice.AFXisatwin wrote:Main thing that is a plus on this forum: no cliches. Is it seriously that hard to believe? I tend to think of Gigawing/Mars Matrix as top tier stuff as well, although I haven't played any of them for any great lengths yet. Tremendously innovative stuff and all around good (minus graphics terrible in all aspects).Rob's baffling love for the Giga Wing series
