Hm, interesting. Well, this score was at the HEY arcade and everybody here is good at shooters. Everyday I see DDP, Ketsui, Strikers getting looped...so I would imagine the Ibara scores are going to be tip-top. If I ever see anyone actually playing the game I'll be sure to watch for some new techniques. Ibara Black Label is actually pretty popular. Everyone that plays it except for me seems to beat the game with some insane score so I stopped trying. :/

You'll notice that in ARC's replays, he powerblasts Kasumi and Teresa with a hadou to quickly kill them before they can do any real damage. However, you can also alter that hadou strategy to milk the destroyable missiles that they fire. Instead of hitting the boss with the hadou, purposely miss and create a shield wall which the missiles will impact on and create a rain of items.

This is risky, mind, and can mess with your bomb strategy. Also, I'm sure that doing this against Kasumi and Teresa will only increase your score by around 1-2mil maximum (maybe). Given the amount of lives that these record scoreholders seem to be accumulating, they could probably pull off the shield wall trick repeatedly before killing bosses.

Dunno, just speculating here...

Also, *updated*, nice score cigs, grats ^_^

Thanks!

I've experimented with the stage 3 boss and trapping it between 2 hadous once the second form starts works OK. Then you need a 3rd hadou to have the strings of tiny ships/things run into. Something along those lines.

I was thinking about this 27 million 1 round thing- if this was possible then why aren't we seeing 50 million scores for the Extended game? Z,XXX,XXX or a max out.

This is frustrating. 27 million means serious, crazy milking somewhere.

Many thanks to ARCHER for responding to me!
Because of my poor English, I cant explain the details of techniques.
If you can translate Japanese, check this site.
http://www15.ocn.ne.jp/~kmt/
Japanese top shooter KMT write how to get high scores.

My best score is U,862,580(30,862,580)pts and win first prize in the
latest Arcadia magazine(No.73).
This score is NORMAL mode. This is neither EXTENDED nor HARDER.

Before stage 3 boss : 8,900,000pts
After stage 3 boss : 11,050,000pts
(only +2,150,000pts. This is not high. My best score is +4,100,000pts!)

Before stage 6 boss : 18,700,000pts
After stage 6 boss : 30,860,000pts
(+12,160,000pts! This is my best.)

To milk high scores at stage 3 boss and stage 6 boss, you need some
techniques of HADOU gun. Check this forum (Icarus's post).

Thank you for your reading of my poor English.

Wow, I was just guesstimating on the hadou technique. Didn't think it would be picked up by a player as great as ARC tho. O_O;;

(Didn't think I was spot on with it either. Might have to investigate when I have a moment of free time...)

Wow, thanks very much to Archer for the information! So most of the extra score comes from the stage 6 boss. Congratulations on your new record.

And I've gotten the medal showers from the stage 3 boss, but nothing close to 2-4 million points. We'll have to figure this out. I wonder how many hadous are needed for the stage 6 boss?

And thanks Valgar for sending the email too.

Experimentation is the key here. In practice mode, I've been managing to squeeze an extra 1 to 1.5mil out of Kasumi, but have been running my bomb stock out as a result. The most important thing to note is that you must force Kasumi into her missile spewing form as quickly as possible, and to do that you ca either shoot off her wings as normal, or blast her with a hadou. The extra few million will depend on just how fast you do that, and how many missiles you can catch with the hadou vapor trail and your own Shots.

Teresa is a far more interesting prospect. To actually keep using the hadou shield wall trick, you have to suicide twice to gain another full bomb. I'm open to suggestions on this one. ^_^

Someone might want to try and translate the guide Archer linked to. I did a quick translation and learned a bit from that.

After reading (well...attempting to) Archer's link on stage 3, it seems like what you want to do is hit the 2nd form with a hadou dead center as soon as it starts. The red ball it creates will pop off the wings and then the missiles will start. If it isn't in the center it may only destroy one side.

In practice I was able to start the boss with 5.8 million and finish with 7.3 million. So about 1.5 for me too. 4 million is pretty crazy! It's pretty hard to keep the body alive long enough to get the points. I've started the boss fight with 4 hadous and the problem is her dying early before I get to use them all.

I'd rather practice this part for now since I wouldn't be able to use the techniques for the final boss just yet even if we knew all the details.

Thanks but I have a problem, I've download a vid of Kasumi fight with the technique to score on the second form.
But my problem is Kasumi never use this pattern against me.
Is something related to rank?
Thanks.

Can you link this video? I don't think I've seen it. From what I've read and experienced some of the pattern differences are related to rank while others are random. For example the stage 5 bosses choices for the third form are random.

It's doing some sort of referrer check. I had to drag+drop to another window to get it to work. Try that.

Thanks zakk, that worked. I actually already had that video.

I thought that was an arrange video the first time I saw it. It looks like what you need to do instead is drive the rank up incredibly high. You can see that he's got 4 lives at the start.

I've been opening the hatches that release the missiles to get a bunch of extra medals but it looks like that's not even the idea.

Factor in the Medals that you can generate from blasting the missiles, and you could well be clearing 1.2mil+ each phase - the video showed mass Rose Medal harvesting for 800k at least per hadou. I have no doubt that the actual method probably requires one or both techniques to be used.

Can anyone tell from archers site if he still suicides down the rank before getting to the stage 3 boss?

It's hard to imagine picking up 4 mil without getting the rank up seriously high (above video).

I've done a practise data file using restarts getting to the boss on 3 lives + 3 bombs to practise the method shown in the vid. The rank bar is well over 3/4s full reaching the boss. Only managed 1.5ish right now and the first form can get pretty hairy.

Is it even possible to progress in the game after leaving stage 3 with the rank pushed up like this? I imagine suiciding the 4 lives gained on the boss will help(if you get 4 mil), but if you only take 2 mil as archers says in his run, you'll be in for a tough time. Maybe the 12mil on the last boss needs a high rank as well...

Well I can't play for a little while, I'm having a stick fitted with sanwa buttons/stick. My saturn-->psx adaptor had to go in as well so the saturn pad is out of commission.

But I wasn't having too much luck with driving up the rank. I have another short video from the same play in stage 2 where the player has 5 lives. If this is what's required I'm screwed.

Perhaps it's better not to go the rank maxing route that most Japanese players are taking on, and perhaps just adapt something similar to what's been discussed for your own route? You might not get 4mil off Kasumi, but 1 - 1.5mil is still pretty good considering.
