I never understood the appeal of action scenes like this. They're just... illogical, for lack of better description. They can pull whatever super jump or special move out of their ass and change the direction of the battle at any point. It's like I'm back watching Saturday morning cartoons or 2 Fast 2 Furious with anime characters. At least FF in-game battles are restricted by a set of skills and stats (anchored in some sort of internal logic). And none of the battles looked that retarded.
Well... I really don't look for much logic when I'm faced with cartoon or CG characters. The only time I really rolled my eyes was when Cloud was chasing after Bahamut. In the air. And each character kept grabbing Cloud and flinging him higher as he passed them.

I mean, hell, if the last battle with Sephiroth in FFVII goes on long enough, he'll cast Super Nova more than once. Which is... rather retarded.

Turk? I liked the cellphone victory theme.
Turk, huh. I wasn't even aware they mentioned his name. Or the other silver-haired guy that wasn't Kadaj.

Are you sure it was Bahamut? I thought it was Diamond Weapon. It was ugly regardless.

I'm sure she battled Turk in the church. But she probably fought a dozen guys in the movie, so... Not sure why I picked out that one.

After having seen the official DVD and compariting to *other* sources, I have to say the Translation they made from this wasn't very good. I know a little Japanese and the English subtitles really stretched the limit of what I could stand. :(

Most of it was good and they ad-libbed fairly well, but it definitely would've been more enjoyable if two things happened:

1. If they used better mouth-lip synching or even re-created the synching they did for the Japanese version.

2. NO MORE STEVEN GOLDBLUM HE'S IN EVERYTHING, I DON'T CARE IF HE IS A GOOD VOICE ACTOR!
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Jesus' BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS:
1. Pure, Mournful, Humble Heart
2. Merciful Peacemaker
3. Suffer for Righteous Desire

I feel for you, Rob. First Tomb Raider, now this... You had some bad luck with purchases recently...

About the movie, I haven't seen it yet, I suppose I won't unless some friend is begging me.

It's funny, I kinda liked VII. No, that's a lie: in fact, I enjoyed it a lot on its release. But honestly, I couldn't care less to see "what happens next" to those characters.

Luckily I just rented this abomination, but I could've easily been suckered into buying it. Yes, and it does feel that way. Every game I loved from 97-98 is being rubbed in the dirt. If Twilight Princess isn't great I will give up hope.

Funny thing is, I always disagreed with that fans that thought the ending wasn't enough. It left things up to the imagination without being completely ambiguous. It was perfect. So now we know everything wrapped up nicely within two years (the lifestream poisoning or whatever). The only thing left is Cloud's personality disorder. This could've easily been a Final Fantasy 8 movie.

I will try to purge this from memory as soon as possible.

I just assumed it was Bahamut cos Kadaj had absorbed materia earlier and Diamond Weapon isn't a summon.

I don't think the movie really concerned itself with the original material, so if they wanted to summon a weapon: fair game! The materia was blue, I think. If they want to call that a summon materia, what won't they do? The guy absorbed it into his skin!

Dude, listen to the people on this thread. The movie's garbage...find a sucker to rent it and watch it then; it's totally not worth any amount of money
