Thanks. Surprised that no one else is using her. Her spread bomb subshot is insanely powerful if you point blank with it.

Going to start putting some serious effort into clearing this game now. It's time. It's time for Psikyo.

Jane or Koyori, which should I use, hmm? As Stuminator mentions above, Jane's napalm bomb shot (reminds me of the red weapon in Tatsujin Ou or Gekirindan) is nicely powerful.

Savestate practice seems besides the point until you hit the later stages.

Making some progress. No movement on the scoreboard, just a score change. Having some tough times with all the bosses in this stage, especially since I am not able to rely on Aine's "Kill everything instantly" bomb. Jane needs to point-blank enemies to speed-kill, which is a tough proposition in this game - you have to know when the enemies aren't firing their "fuck you die now" attacks.

A 1ALL in Sengoku Blade! Grueling practice for a minor accomplishment, but I am proud nonetheless.

I used Junis and took the lower route. The final stage's archers are such a huge problem but using the charge shot to set up an offensive sentry to soften up the archers seemed to do the trick. I still was on my last everything with the final boss, inching out the clear by the skin of my teeth.

With all this work I bet a Marion 1ALL isn't all that out-there.

I'm glad you finally posted the vid here Lyv because that is an incredible display of skill. Not only is it great to see non-Aine scores, but to cut through this game's brutal difficulty with Junis is really amazing to watch. I notice that you seem to purposefully get hit by enemies in the last few stages; is this because they're too hard to avoid or can you actually try to 'lower' second loop rank even in 2-7?

Anyhow, I am still amazed at this run!

Thanks.
Yeah, rank control in the latter half of the loop is quite important, and there are two sides to it:
- suiciding makes the rank drop sharpy, but it goes back to max very quickly in the loop (in less than one stage's time).
- powering down basically lowers the "rank ceiling". As long as you're at power 2 for example, the game will never get as crazy as in power max.

The suicide at the beginning of 2-5 is to skip the hard section, to lower rank enough to kill the first two big dudes (also using the i-frames), to replenish bombs, and to power down (using the first hand for that as well).
The suicide at the start of 2-7 is mostly to replenish bombs, and to skip the hard section (it's possible to no-miss, but I didn't want to hard-memo another part...).
The power-down at the start of 2-7 is not planned but not important, I just need to be at least at power 1 for easy suiciding. The power-down at the end of 2-7 is annoying, and it's really a section I should have learned more thoroughly. Final boss gets (slightly) easier with each level of power. At power max I can no-miss the fight unless RNG gets crappy. At power 3 it takes longer, so that's why I need the extra life.

I took some time to write down my "mental notes" for the loop, since it's a bit more complex than it looks. If anyone cares.

Wow, Tengai is a really great character, probably the first slow-moving Psikyo character that I really like to play as. His shot, charge and bomb are all really good.

Also Sengoku Ace seems to be a better game than I remembered. Didn't like it as much years ago.

By the way, all my old Ace and Blade scores are on the 1P side. Thanks. :)

Went back to Sengoku Blade this August determined to get a 1CC on Switch with Junis, since she has excellent screen control (and I love Socrates ). After I got it, I tried with the other characters and managed another 3 clears (first loop) and "almost" a fourth (with Tengai). I guess my Junis strategy was mostly good for everyone else, with a few adjustments here and there. EDIT_1: Got the clear with Tengai as well!! :D

My favourite characters are definitely Junis and Hagane, then Aine (even though I don't love abusing the sword that much), Tengai and Koyori (playing these two without their charged shots for the most part). Don't love playing with Sho though. EDIT_2: Got a Sho 1-all as well!! :D Couldn't resist the thought of getting all 6 of them! This one was the lowest score of them all, because I didn't know how to quickly kill anything.

Anyway, I love this game and its scoring system! Here are the results: :D

SENGOKU BLADE - NORMAL - Aine
SPM - 950,900 - 2-1 - P1 - Yes - Switch

SENGOKU BLADE - NORMAL - Junis
SPM - 908,700 - 2-1 - P1 - Yes - Switch

SENGOKU BLADE - NORMAL - Tengai
SPM - 888,000 - 2-1 - P1 - Yes - Switch

SENGOKU BLADE - NORMAL - Hagane
SPM - 887,800 - 2-1 - P1 - Yes - Switch

SENGOKU BLADE - NORMAL - Koyori
SPM - 887,700 - 2-1 - P1 - Yes - Switch

SENGOKU BLADE - NORMAL - Shoumaru
SPM - 819,700 - 2-1 - P1 - Yes - Switch

----------------------------

One more thing: Here's a clip of the luckiest boss fight ever that gave me the Koyori 1-All

Also, I won't try the second loop. That's just crazy!
Ah, and all the runs were done taking the upper path/front gate (IMO much easier than the lower route)
