Ibara (Arcade and Arrange)
7,200,120 - Randorama - Stage 6 - Bond Type D - Arcade
I'm beginning to hate this game...there are a number of things that really could have been better balanced, honestly. Bah, Yagawa, i hope you were just a bit rusty.

DC906270 - 3,326,530 - Stage 3 - Bond Type A - PS2 Arcade Mode
I think i finally have learned how to control the rank enough to get past the stage 2 boss pretty consistently
suicides - either 1 suicide required at end stage 1, and then 1 mid stage 2 just before the boss, or 2 suicides/deaths during stage 2
extends - 1st extend at end stage 1/beginning stage 2, and then another extend reached mid to end stage 2. Total lives 3 default + 2 extend = 5, losing 2-3 from suicides/accidental deaths, gives you 2 lives to defeat stage 2 boss. I think you need at least 2 lives to beat the 2nd boss.
go at stage 3 at the skin of your teeth hoping to reach your 3rd extend before you lose your last life
EDIT : another tip i have learned is that when you suicide or die, you should try to avoid re-collecting the options and power ups that explode out of you, as this seems to affect the rank drop significantly
I think that with refinement, the best option would be to suicide twice during first two stages, leaving 2 life left to defeat the 2nd boss, and then you would enter stage 3 with at least 1 in stock, with the 3rd extend adding an extra life during stage 3, allowing 1 more death or suicide before reaching the 3rd boss to control rank. This would give a better chance of progressing to fourth stage i think.

Done. In future, if you want an update, ask for it politely. Some people have busy lives, and don't have time to check the forum every ten seconds for updates to their threads. I will update when I free up time. UNDERSTAND?DC906270 wrote:this thread could do with a goddamn update - come on Icarus, put Plasmo at #1 where he belongs!
I cannot allow that score if it has an 8 at the end of it, Held. Continuation scores are disallowed. Did you mistype your score? ^_-firestorm wrote:66385288-Held- all - Dyne (Type D) - PS2
I'm sure that's an Arranged score, but please make sure you state which mode that score is for in future to save confusion.
I've added your score neocps2, but in future could you please provide more information, like which ship and subtype you have used, and what stage you reached. Thank you.neocps2 wrote:version pcb

Great score, cigs.
You asked me to check on some of the machines in Tokyo to see what recent top scores are like, so I might as well post my findings here.
It's not real popular so I've only seen a couple of cabinets, but the one in HEY had some interesting scores. Under extended mode the top score was J,xxx, xxx, which is good but I've heard of scores in the R range. Under the normal mode, however, the top score was Q,xxx, xxx. How is this possible? Archer gets up to G in his superplay, Q seems like a hell of a jump. I double-checked to make sure it wasn't the extended or harder mode tables, and it wasn't. Maybe I'm going blind and Gs look like Qs. I dunno, is there some boss that doesn't time out and can be milked or something?

We have seen high scores listed at 27M from arcadia but weren't sure if they were extended mode.... That means you saw one that is close to a world record!? No one has any idea how these scores are gotten!NTSC-J wrote:Great score, cigs.
