I think DDP is easier to 1-ALL than Espgaluda, mainly because of Jakou. You can kind of just spam bombs all day with C-Shot and still clear loop 1 of DDP, whereas ESP 1 asks for a bit more resource management.

That's reasonable. I've hardly touched anything besides type-A, but I can see how C would make stage 5 way easier.

Momoiro Underground Route S - 4.9M Clear

500 Rank start, no miss up to the final boss (at which point I suicide milked). I was pretty sure this would end up over 5M - clearing that hurdle is attractive, but so it playing something else.

When I started playing the game I was so confused I just wanted to put in enough time to not feel like I'd wasted my money on it. In the end it really pulled me in. There's so much I still don't understand, and answers to some of those questions would potentially mean a fair bit score wise. But I don't have what it takes to answer them myself - with so many variables and the relevant outcomes happening ~40 minutes into a run, testing seems like a grind I'm not really willing to do. Would probably be easier to learn to dive into the code.

Bought Shikhondo on PS4 a little over a week ago and finished the last of the basic clears last night. Normal arcade and boss rush with both characters is done. It's pretty relaxed on normal but very enjoyable. The port is definitely lacking important features but I like the game, patterns, and "what if 2hu had cool art?" style it has going on. Going to try and see if I can nab the Hardcore mode clear next. Does anyone know of any posts that break down the scoring systems in detail?

See here. I had the same reaction when I started playing and it almost put me off the game until the pieces started falling into place.

I did a run starting at Rank 500, at Max Speed. I didn't mess with the speed at all, though I did suicide a few times to respawn with full health. Was really my first time trying out the speed mod - interesting, but just a curiosity.

To be honest, the second loop is not THAT difficult (the Japanese wiki ranked it at 43 difficulty) when you use 20hz autofire (autofire fails at 30hz) with Jeynus. It was still rather annoying because of some random elements.
