It's literaly in a few minutes walk from Casino arcade. The Trocadero is located on Oxford Street.
Go out of Casino, turn right, walk until you reach the Oxford Street (just after the Virgin Megastore), turn right and cross the street...you'll come across it soon enough... :D

This is if memory serves me well... DEL, elbarto and/or others might correct me if I am wrong though. :P

That's if you walked according to the one-way system, of course... ;) But as you can see you just walk down Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road and then turn onto Shaftsbury Avenue. Maybe a five to ten minute walk.

Not quite, there's a Play2Win on Oxford Street. The Troc is right between Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square, so if you know where either of those are, you're good to go.

EDIT - beaten to putting a map up.
Slightly shorter route that we usually take is: Goodge st, 2nd left (just after Game Focus), straight on to Oxford St (past CEX), Over to Soho Sq, Frith St, Shaftesbury Ave, Wardour St, turn right when you get to KFC and you're there.

Good to hear that V.V is getting installed, DEL. I look forward to getting some tips from yourself and ARC :)

There's a shortcut you can take to go between them through Chinatown (via Oxford St, might be the source of confusion, SL), I'll try to get a map up.
Ha, my memory is letting me down (again :() then...

I think I was wrongly believing that that P2W place was called trocadero...
But that Play2Win the centre did have (had?) that had DDP 2 game, right?

Damn I wish I had the opportunity to come again... :?

^Well that's what I'm trying to do. ie. Offer games in the arcade that have no console port or Mame Rom. (One of the advantages of an arcade).

Update:- Ketsui and V.V are going in today!
Got to say it's much appreciated. The lack of shmups in London arcades is a real shame, so it's great to hear this is happening. I had heard Casino had Mushi in a while back but that the cab had a duff stick...

Always wanted to open a bar with some shmups in. There's a bar called Juno on Shoreditch High Street in the East End that tried doing it but their cabs are just a couple of shoddy bootlegs and a 1942 with a stick that doesn't move right. :|

That is correct, not sure if its still there.

It is indeed a shame that you can't make it this time :(

Yup, that'd do it, but it might be easier to stick to the main streets if you're new to London. :)

Please do! That'd combine two main interests of me: shmups and drinks (well... beer).
I'd love to pay such a place a visit. :P

But seriously, you'd probably have like tens of drunk people ruining your cabs and destroying your investments...
I'd love the games + beer combi, but others would ruin it... :(

Within the coming year I'll come to London again though...
Saving up for a (new) car. Should have that money before next january though, so I could start setting aside money shortly after that.

Admittedly I love London city... :D

Dammit, looks like I found this too late -- though it might be possible to come up on Sunday. I'll see how things go, and see you there if so. You'll know who I am because I hardly ever play any of the games mentioned and as such will be God-awful

well if you go to picadilly circus tube you can get to trocadero without even going onto the street, just take the exit to the left of where the escalators come up and go past the stairs which go to the street and follow the corridoor which leadt to the bottom of trocadero.

Raiden 3 is with the back to back fighting games which are up a small set of stairs in a corner to the right of where the escalator goes up.

----

Hopefully i will be able to come to casino on Saturday/Sunday.

Im not sure about Saturday as i have to participate in a Guilty Gear XX Slash Tournament. although it will probably be in the evening so i can come during the daytime.

I hope to see people there this time!

Has the 1P joystick been fixed on the ketsui cab? I went in early on Sunday and Batrider was suffering from the crapness of that stick. I also noted that both progear and espgaluda are on horrible monitors, and some of the fighting games have new sticks - they look the part but are really unpleasant to use. The casino has been a fine arcade for many years now, but it's a real shame they don't look after their cabs

I didn't see this till now. I left Casino on Sat at about 5:50pm and could not get down there today. Oh well!

There was a guy doing pretty well on Galuda when I left.

me too! i turned up at 4:30 yesterday and couldn't see anyone shmupping. i had a few nice games of ketsui but mushi has terrible sticks and progear is unplayable on that monitor, so i left around 6pm for some fighting game action at the 'troc. That was probably me on galuda as i started playing it just before i left, but then made a horrific mistake quite early in the game so i gave up.
