... the 360 bitches!

Not that I care that much. But hey, I love the "pop" sound of developers yanking their heads out of Sony's worthless ass.

I love people with system biases. I always try to imagine the lame things that go through their heads. For example:

"Let's boycott Sony because they are evil. Who cares they've got the best library of games for two generations? They're evil. Luv Sega. Luv Nintendo. Luv Micro$oft. Lack of games is just a moot point. I f*ck systems."

What's the goddamn point of this thread?
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"

To announce that Tri-Ace is making a 360 exclusive game?

I don't know, I thought that it was, you know, news, since half the people on this forum nut themselves over Valkyrie Profile... and most of those people probably love Star Ocean as well?

I didn't see this anywhere else, thought it would be interesting. My apologies for getting your panties in a wad. Did not mean to ruin your day with the Tri-Ace announcement. Please, forgive me. I seriously hope I didn't ruin your day too much with my internet thread. I did not mean to make your pussy hurt so.

From now on, for any thread I make, "Sony fanboys do not apply" should be understood, so please, feel free not to enter anymore. K? Thanks. 8)

I think the tirade was just at the way you put an anti-Sony spin on the news, but that's to be expected fom you, so it's no biggie.

*Shrugs*

I thought there was an understanding, maybe I'm wrong.

The REAL purpose of this thread, was to say:
"HEY! Tri-Ace, this developer a lot of people love, is making an exclusive for 360! Could this be cool? Who knows! We shall see!"

But... whatever.

Unlike Nintendo, Microsoft can throw money at 3rd parties for exclusives.

Good news to me. The 360 is my "current gen" system of focus anyway, so news like this is always welcome for me. :)

If you count the 360 as 'current gen' then surely it can be the only system of focus as it's the only one of the 'current gen' systems that's actually out?

Kind of unusual for tri-Ace to get this kind of attention - I mean, they've only developed a small handful of games (4 Star Ocean games, Valkyrie Profile, Radiata Stories I believe). However, this is good news to me, the current console market really could use a couple of good RPGs in the mix with all of the terrible ones. Though I never planned on buying a 360, unfortunately

Well I have no plans to buy the upcoming PS3 or Revolution anytime soon. I'm quite content with what the 360 brings to the table as well as the games that are slated to come out for it. News like this just makes my decision that much easier to take.

System/company prejudices are things that we should have grown out of by now.

Still, it's a smart thing to support MS for now. Sony's monopoly is a Bad Thing for the industry. The best scenario for us (gamers) would be if the three companies managed to acquire 33.3333 percent of the market each.

Whatever happens, the breakdown of market share will be better this gen than last gen.

And back on topic: JRPGs suck, with few exceptions.

Are you sure company prejudices are necessarily a bad thing? Isn't that how demand and democratic market forces are supposed to work? Consumers supporting companies whose business practices they agree with, and conversely boycotting companies who they find disagreeable?

lets hope they dont loose too much money. a RPG company signing exclusivity for a console that most likely wont sell in japan, dont know if it's a smart move.

i dont really care tho, star ocean 2 was damn good, but 3 kinda sucked, and i cant bring myself to boot radiata stories :/

Being prejudiced against a console maker means that you won't buy its hardware even if there are tons of good games for it. Conversely, prejudice against a software publisher means that you won't buy any of their games, even if they have a few great ones.

Prejudice of any kind is stupid, and obstructs progress. 'Progress' in this context means that you will lose out on great Xbox games because you hate Microsoft, for example (and how ridiculous is it when people manage to actually love or hate faceless multinationals?) We are all human of course, so we could probably never be 100% free of prejudice, but we can at least be aware that it is something which holds us back, and fight against it whenever we see it in ourselves. The way to fight it is to be more open-minded.

Generally speaking, you will find that intelligent people are open-minded and stupid people are prejudiced. So we should all aspire to the first. I think.

It's great they are still working with some new games but afterall Tri-ace is hopeless nowadays... Anyways if the game will appear to be that good I will have a problem - must wait till PS3&Revo destroy x360 to ashes;p I trully hate microsoft consoles. In Poland nobody gives a fuck playstation has more and better games, xbox rule because it's made by known, west company. Hate this fucking piece of shit;o

However with Lost Planet, Lost Odyssey and this X360 will have quite a strong lineup (still useless in Japan;D)

I'd more or less agree. Prejudiced is the key word here. Around 200 games come out each year and I don't rent all of them or even know of the existence of all of them, all based on the fact that they'll probably suck. I doubt anyone else is any different in this respect - we have to be, as much as I wish I had the time and resources to give everything a fair chance. But I don't think boycotting specific consoles or great games does anyone much good.

it´s a kind of prejudice that doesn´t hurt anybody. I´m sure Sony can live with jp hating them, and as long as jp doesn´t feel like he´s missing out on anything, why shouldn´t he continue to stay away from Sony products? The flipside of the coin, however, is when it comes to persuading other people to share such a prejudice, or when complaining about drawbacks your prejudice inflicts upon yourself (not being "able" to complete his Panzer Dragoon collection, for example), because that´s when you appear really stupid.

The only reason I hope the 360 destroys the ps3 is for the sake of some xbox only games getting the attention they deserve. There were genres aka driving games, action games, and arcade racers where the xbox just destroyed the ps2. Shit like tourist trophy, Gran Turismo, and to some extent God of War wouldn't even fly on the xbox. People buy these games in droves though because they've never heard of MotoGP1-3, Forza, Rallisport Challenge1-2, Outrun, and Ninja Gaiden. So if MS keeps up this level of quality, I won't even miss $ony.

I think.

*Sigh* You people amaze me. Really. Its like I'm personally hurting you whenever I diss Sony. Why my opinion on Sony and my "boycott" of them gets so many of you to start crying is beyond me.

For years, on virtually every message board I'm on, people complained about Sony. Sony doesn't support 2D games in the US. Sony screwed over SNKP. Sony rips off gamers. Sony's consoles break down. The launch of the PS2 sucks, Sony overhyped the system. Sony killed Working Designs. Wah wah wah wah wah.

And yet the fucktards still buy the console. People complain about Sony's business practices, people talk about how they hate Sony, and yet... people fucking support them. Explain to me then, how it is that I am the stupid one. I hate Sony. I hate Sony's business practices. I will not support them. Other people hate Sony. Other people hate what Sony does. Yet they support them and give Sony the power to continue doing it.

Yeah, I'm the stupid one.

And who the fuck are you to tell me what system has "tons of good games"? I have a Saturn collection to finish, I have a sea of PC-Engine/PC-Engine Duo games to explore. As well as NES, SNES, Neo-Geo/Neo-Geo CD, Genesis, Master System, Gameboy, GBA, etc. ad infinitum. Fuck, if a European copy of Kizuna Encounter seems like it'll be fun to me, then I have THAT to buy too. On top of that, I actively support the DS and Xbox360, two current gen platformers with games still coming out for them.

Thats a shit ton of gaming right there. I already purchase roughly 10 games every 2 weeks. 10 games. How many do you buy hmm? And you know what the fun part is Mr. Open-Minded-Intelligence? I don't even have time to play the games I buy. I'm a full time college student, with a job that often pushes me to overtime, and outside of that I work for three other companies doing various things. Yeah, I should just buy every fucking console out there huh? Seeing as how, apparently like you, I have time to sit around and do more than make a quick run through Blast Wind or spend one evening on XBox Live with my friends.

As for this: "Well the intelligent person would support all consoles." Right... intelligence is measured in what consoles one supports. So whats your college degree in again? Hmmm? I mean, I know I'm stupid for not supporting a company I hate, but... wow... amazingly enough I'm getting a degree in Optical Engineering, one of the rarest engineering degrees in the country, with a 3.5 GPA thus far and while in the program I'm helping out in research to put a laser on the moon to shoot incoming meteors.

But hey, you're real smart man, you got a PS2. That totally trumps any laser cooling research I'm into. Lemme tell ya.

The flipside of the coin, however, is when it comes to persuading other people to share such a prejudice, or when complaining about drawbacks your prejudice inflicts upon yourself (not being "able" to complete his Panzer Dragoon collection, for example), because that´s when you appear really stupid.
As far as I know, the only time I even go into Sony rants is when someone's pussy starts hurting over some snide comment I make towards the company. As for the Panzer Dragoon thing, once again, I'm not supporting shit I don't agree with. Last time I checked, I had the fucking right to do that.
