I really agree with this, but I'm hoping it's just poor emulation in mame. It just seems too twitchy and unpredictable.
Can any PCB owners confirm this?

I've played the arcade quite a bit and I can confirm this.

I've got the PCB, and a fantastic MAME setup, but I can't comment either way at the moment. When I get a good 2-3 hours to sit down w/ the two, I will comment.

I have the PCB, and have no idea what you guys are talking about. I've also played it in mame on a cab. Maybe you guys are using pads or something? Or maybe its the fact that the hit box is a lot larger in ESPRade than in other cave games?

Runs great and feels right on my mame cab - though I've never tried the PCVB.

That's weird, it feels smaller than dodonpachi's to me.

It's not smaller, just in a different spot proportionally. I know it takes me a while to re-learn it when jumping from weeks of DDP play into a Ra.De session.

I believe it's actually bigger than Guwanges. Then again, there's probably less bullets on screen than Guwange though.

I do not play on a pad. Both of my setups use the same Seimitsu stick. It just feels different than other Cave games (hit box and all -- harder to go through swarms... you have to go around them). I'm sure it's not the emulation.

Espgaluda is good fun, but I find it a bit frustrating at the same time. For some reason I've just always sucked at it. And unlike some other shmups that I suck at, like Gunbird 2, Espgaluda has never become addictive enough for me to put in the time to get better.
