A new version of Super Hydorah is coming to the new exa arcade hardware:

The new exa arcade hardware uses some PC hardware components as well as a custom I/O board but here's the sweetest part about the I/O board that I think is big news: it was designed to kill input lag and has less input lag than competing arcade hardware.

The exa system can run up to 4 games at once where you can switch between them like a Neo-Geo. All new games for the system have to be developed to run at some very specific specs for example 4:3 31k and 16:9 720p will be universally supported on all games. So you can switch between 4 games at once like Neo-Geo and buy new games on the system knowing it will work on your setup.

There is a prototype version playable at Jaepo.

This is pretty cool. Never would have expected a western developed fan made game would get an AC release. I played the freeware game Hydorah (which I assume this is in some way based on), and it did seem pretty high quality design wise.

This is cool. I guess I'd better start an exa arcade wishlist:

1. Infinos Gaiden (teh arcade edition)
2. Graze Counter (teh arcade edition)
3. Danmaku Unlimited (teh arcade edition)

Now... Crimzon Clover for ExaArcadia

That will be a good idea.
At this rate, I won’t be interested into shmups anymore. I am no longer going to be active in this forum from now on. I am more interested into Kemono Friends, rhythm games, D4DJ, Puzzle Games, Hololive, and Pretty Cure.

I don't see what new benefits that would bring that we don't already have from the Nesica version and the World Ignition release.

NTSC-J: You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too.

That's quite impressive that three high-profile STG titles for the upcoming Exa-Arcadia arcade platform. It certainly is a great time for the arcades and the hard-core gamers with a candy cab and/or a supergun setup indeed.

Guess it's time to start setting aside a serious chunk of change to be able to buy an Exa-Arcadia + a cool STG title to play it on.

Long live the arcades worldwide.

I wonder how Moss will develop Raiden V for ExaArcadia after working on Raiden III and Raiden IV for Taito Type X.
At this rate, I won’t be interested into shmups anymore. I am no longer going to be active in this forum from now on. I am more interested into Kemono Friends, rhythm games, D4DJ, Puzzle Games, Hololive, and Pretty Cure.

I was lucky enough to get my preorder in for the limited/special edition set of Super Hydorah, so I'm looking forward to that. I enjoyed the original Hydorah PC release.
