Super east doesn't loop. Unless there are hidden requirements to activate it.

The trophy list is already fully translated so it's probably coming eventually. I wonder if they'll translate the character dialogue in game though.lrussolo wrote:I know it's not a crazy hassle to setup a JPN PSN account, but I'd rather hold off until this gets an NA release. It might be wishful thinking to think M2 would release this and Ketsui outside of Japan, seeing how the english translation of Dangun Feveron hasn't been given a release date yet.

To answer my own question, the soundtrack options are interesting.
Arcade is muffled and dinky sounding, as usual.
PC Version is...interesting. Sounds clearer and more elaborate...but I feel like it loses something in the process.
Orchestral is pretty cool. Obviously it loses some of it's punchiness, but it's a nice alternative. Reminds me of those "Orchestral Soundtrack" version of old NES games you hear on YouTube. But with some guitar mixed in.

That's reassuring. I guess the monetary risk to release in multiple regions is minimal compared to the potential gains from extra sales. I just hope they release under the japanese name and ditch Sorcer Strikericonoclast wrote:The trophy list is already fully translated so it's probably coming eventually. That's probably what's going to happen. They didn't call Dangun Feveron Fever SOS when they announced the English translation of that, after all.iconoclast wrote:I just hope they release under the japanese name and ditch Sorcer Striker

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
Is it just me or is the replay viewer broken? Every time I try to watch a replay I've downloaded, the game gets stuck on "Now Accessing." Local replays work fine though.
Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
I couldn't access them either when just tried so your not alone m8. Hopefully it gets patched or could just be a network bug fingers crossed. Wonder how many units it's sold this week. God it's a great time to be into shmups. There my fave genre and can't get enough of them. It's amazing to have a brand new one never played before as well. Here's to 1cc lol

Check your storage space. If you're out of space, take something off of there. Or, you could hook a HDD up to your PS4.PlasmaBlooD wrote:I bought this game today and i can not download this game!!!I have enough emty Memory on my PS 4.Any idea? and Systemsoftware is new
This is not a big game, so things must be pretty loaded.

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
Some Dual mode specifics figured out after playing it a fair bit:
scoring bonus
- In stages the bonus value on the top right goes up from destroying mid-sized enemies or whole waves of popcorn. Bonus adds value to any enemy kills and tickpoints. Snowballs score much like a DDP game so stack the value when you can.
- In dual mode the game keeps spawning bonus enemies whenever there's a moment with none around. So speedkilling enemies is the way to stack up the bonus value and score big.
- On bosses and midbosses you activate quickkill bonus when dropping their health near death. The bonus value is higher the faster you get the boss down to critical hp.
- Quickkill bonus adds the same kind of bonus as the stage bonus value. So if possible lower boss core hp until the bonus activates and then milk destructibles & tick points until just before the bonus timer runs out. The timer is shorter than boss timeout so it doesnt take as long as arcade mode. Once the quickkill timer is over destructibles and tickpoints no longer give any points.
miracle
- In each stage there are fairies hidden around the map sort of like bees or secret fountains in other shmups. You can see their locations on the map screen while playing. Either the p1 or p2 ship needs to stay on top of them for ~2 seconds to collect them.
- When you pick up a fairy a powerup carrier appears on the top of the screen. The item instead of doing anything to player shot activates a 'miracle' timer that greatly increases your firepower, enemy spawn rate and points gained from kills (?)
- You can let the item bounce back up from the bottom of the screen to delay activation. If you shoot the carrier at a specific timing the item will fly diagonally and you can't delay it much.
- Timing use of the miracle item makes up for a huge part of your scoring sort of like a scoring hyper in other shmups. If you use them well early on in stages you can have a big bonus value for the rest of the stage, near the end of the stage you can cash in a lot of points by destroying groups of enemies with a high bonus and miracle active.
max rank mode
- Activated for current stage if you collected all fairies in the previous stage
- Deactivates if you autobomb without holding the bomb button after. Also deactivates if you die with less than 3 extends in stock.
- If you dropped from max rank in current stage all boss quickkill bonuses will be reduced to 10. Enemies give less points because of less hp and there's usually less spawns (?) If boss bonus is already active it doesnt drop down from a suicide, might be a decent way to restock bombs for next stage.
p2 control
- You can change the control type of each character in 'Other options'. In all modes the start button changes the p2 shot type so map it somewhere that's accessible.
- Reverse control seems the best for scoring play. You can quickly place the p2 ship anywhere on screen to cover spawnpoints or pointblank big enemies.
- Homing control makes the p2 options close up when it automatically targets enemies.
misc
- Make sure to have an autofire button set to 30hz since you're pointblanking enemy spawns & bosses constantly.
- Miyamoto's p2 wide shot can give an absurd amount of tickpoints

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
I've always wondered, is there some degree of rank control in this game, outside of dying? I've noticed that in some 2-ALLs, the 2nd boss has been substantially weaker (shooting about half the projectiles) than I normally see while playing on the first loop. It doesn't look like the player does anything special: https://youtu.be/8CR6FpUNv1o?t=443

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
I believe the main way that you can control rank is by limiting how much you power up (mainly in the earlier stages).

Note that that video you linked is of the easier European version of the game, Sorcer Striker.

@Zaarock
Great post! It's a pity that this is hidden in the main topic though. Might be worth to open a Dual Mode topic in the strategy section for posterity's sake?
Also, thanks a lot for the video of your PB!

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
Ah, that makes more sense. I've found that the stage 2 boss doesn't get super easy like that unless Rank is under 20%, which is almost impossible (maybe actually impossible) without a suicide.Shepardus wrote:Note that that video you linked is of the easier European version of the game, Sorcer Striker.

The rank meter is hilarious at the start of the game. I haven't even taken off yet and it's already crawling up slowly. Damn you Raizing!

We had a run of this game at a local meet on Saturday (happy coincidence we planned a meet the same week of release!) and couldn't get over Chitta's animated portrait in the M2Gadgets. It's just too adorable.

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
Some arcade mode rank things I noticed:
Rank Starts at about 13%
Powering up raises rank, some shot types seem to raise it more than other. Looking at you green shot.
Rank drops a bit on death and at stage clear.
Switching weapons when max sometimes raises or lowers it. Example would be during stage 6 I had max green shot and rank at 75%, I switched to Red shot and the rank dropped to 69%

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
It seems to me like each character has different static rank modifiers for their various sub-shots (and furthermore for each level of each sub-shot), and it's a static rank% increase as long as you actually have that weapon equipped. Like, for Chitta, equipping Front might bump up the rank a bit, but switching back to Wide or Homing will immediately lower it back down. For Bornnam, Homing is higher rank than the other two, but it works the same way.Neo_Antwon wrote:Some arcade mode rank things I noticed:

It almost certainly has an effect on the per-frame rank too, but you'd probably have to play up through 1-4 or 1-5 at different power levels to really quantify the difference.

1.02 patch details: http://m2stg.com/mahou-daisakusen/news_ ... sec-171110
Dual mode counterstop removed, various bug fixes. There used to be a nasty softlock on loading downloaded replays among other things.

How are you guys digging the Orchestral Soundtrack?
I'm really enjoying it. I've always had problems with the way the music in this game sounded. Not so much the compositions, but the execution.

I just bought this. "Magical Campaign" is very enjoyable so far.
Spoiler
Thanks to Google translating the PS Store Page. Other translators gave me "Magic Dozen" and "A Magical Operation".

Go into the menu, to the M2 Gadgets tab, and make sure "Gadget Trigger" is on. It's basically a master switch for all of the side-panel stuff. I think it gets switched off whenever you change the display settings.

Re: M2 ShotTriggers Mahou Daisakusen Coming to PS4
I usually use the arranged soundtrack, I like it better than the PC version music, I think. I just didn't feel like making a post specifically about it, sorry
