The ones I can think of at the top of my mind are "Gravity Error" from Triggerheart Exelica Enhanced, "Fly" from Otomedius Excellent, "Hoshikuzu Garandou" from DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou (Aya Hirano sounds like she's channeling her inner Haruhi Suzumiya when she sings), "Freedom" from Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviours, and "Brave the Sky" from Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst.

Super happy to see someone mention this one. My only complaint is the boss where this plays is over very quickly so you don't normally hear much of the song in-game.

That's what you think, man. I sent a letter to SNK headquarters in 1988 asking whether or not I could call Psycho Soldier's theme song a "vocal theme song in a shmup", and three agonizing months later I finally got a reply in the mail confirming that it was indeed a vocal theme song in a shmup.

The wait was worth it.

I had misheard the lyrics as "War! War! War! Gonna break you down! Terrorism, you sleaze!" That would make sense after reading the ending text.
Actually it's "Wah wah wah, I'm gonna bring you down! The tables will turn around, you'll see!".

For some reason that Twin Cobra II music reminds me of "Shakedown" from the movie Beverly Hills Cop II. Or "Who'll Be the Hero", the first stage theme from the Konami beat 'em up Violent Storm.
