As you all know the strategy section provides us with an unbelievable wealth of information to get the most out of our favorite genre. It's very well organized, but sometimes its easy to overlook significant new updates or additions to the section.
I would love to know if there is awesome new thread or update to check out, so if you have created or updated something awesome please let us all know and link to the thread here.
I'll start:
Sengoku Ace 1-ALL Flight Manual
I just finished this guide to getting a quick easy one all in Psikyo's bitchin' Sengoku Ace. If you haven't had a chance to play or clear this game yet please check and my guide and go for it. It's an awesome game even if you are totally new to Psikyo.
Also I worked pretty hard to make the Caladrius GD into an organized, thorough collection of information about that game, so if you are interested in learning the basics of that one check it out too.
If you have any new threads or updates to the strategy section you would like to promote please do it! I for one will certainly be checking them out.
Strategy Section News and Updates
Re: The Shameless Plug Thread: Strategy Section News and Upd
Just a heads up to everyone that I have just completed ST: Darius II. It includes a system guide and a detailed survival oriented walkthrough for getting your first 1cc. It's an awesome game, so check out the guide and give it a shot in MAME!
Re: Strategy Section News and Updates
This thread never took off but whatever.
Despite being relatively inactive on the forum for the past year and a half because of my new job, I still visit regularly and play often. My 1ccs have been coming in at a slower pace, but recently I've returned to Gradius via the PSP collection during my daily commute. Revisiting this clear inspired me to write a beginners guide to Gradius AC. I think this guide will also serve as a great starting point for beginners in the STG genre looking to learn how 1ccs are achieved. Hope you guys like it!

Re: Strategy Section News and Updates
GD: GR3 Project - Breakdown of mechanics and other information (aside from specific stage strategies) for a freeware Gradius fangame that apparently nobody except me plays, probably because it's distributed as a JAR file and getting the music to sound right requires outdated versions of Java.
Some unstructured info dumps:
Some notes on ring^-27 - It's simpler than I make it sound, but I included a bunch of specific numbers for completeness's sake. Also explained some of the unlockable game modes in the high score thread. tl;dr: Kill other enemies while anchored to an enemy to build up multiplier and medal value (destroying the anchored enemy resets the chain). If playing bomb mode, focus on getting big cancels - you probably don't have room to do much else.
Some Darius Gaiden rank info including MAME cheats to watch the rank for both the regular version and Extra. tl;dr: Listen to MathU and ignore everything related to rank in Randorama's guide, rank increases mostly from destroying boss parts and grabbing powerups (more when at full power).
Parodius Da! rank info (building off of Seahawk's notes) including a MAME cheat. tl;dr: The second and third speedups and shield each double the rate at which rank increase, everything else doesn't matter much in comparison.

Very nice! I would argue that Stage 5 isn't nearly as hard as you make it sound, but I love the combination of general tips and detailed (and illustrated!) stage strategies.ACSeraph wrote:SD: Shoot the Core! Gradius 1-ALL Flight Manual
