No major point to this topic, other than to say I'm not dead
Hello everybody,
It's been a long time since I've made any posts on here, but I do still lurk and check in on random SHMUP activities.
I think anyone who knows me would say I've pulled off some pretty incredible accomplishments in the world of SHMUPs, but lately I haven't been been inspired to do much. I work until evenings where I don't get back until shortly before 8pm. It isn't the fact that I'm 100% done with SHMUPs currently, but because I have less free time than I used to, I really don't feel the need to learn a new game when someone else out there is grinding out on it and has all bases covered or there's a better player that has already done whatever game.
For those that have never noticed, the spare videos I ever release focus more on more obscure things that people are less inclined to play. After looking back on Nostradamus, Otomedius Shots Edition, and a few STGWeekly episodes it made me feel both nostalgia at how I was super psyched to stream when I got a computer capable of doing so, and both sad that I could not keep up with these streams because of life priorities.
I really wanted to thank everyone that did watch whenever I streamed whatever games, you could have done anything else but you decided to watch whatever I was doing. SHMUPs are a dying breed, and I'm afraid my time is running out, thanks to Alpha Mission II completely crushing my will to even bother to even finishing that game its one of the first games I've rage quit without feeling bad about abandoning. I just wanted to share my appreciation for anyone that tuned in and followed me for anything related to SHMUPs. I wish I could have had all the equipment to stream and all that good stuff a few years earlier and I know I could have taken off a lot more. Then again, I'm monotonous so my voice isn't really stream friendly IMO so I'm not sure how long I could have gone if I treated streaming super seriously. I don't know though, that's just my own opinion. Regardless, I will lay the final grounds right now for what will make me retire: if I EVER upload a Blue Wish Desperate Clear, that is when I am officially done and passing the baton to everyone else. Absolutely 100%, unlike my bullshit Ketsui goal, if you see me beat Blue Wish Desperate in a video, it's 100% over once that happens.
Anyhow, tldr; alive, not dead but slightly uninspired. Are there any games lacking in footage people would be interested in me checking out?

I've got a couple of copies of this and never put much time into it, its a really good game though very fluid controls and nice dual shot mechanics, the one thing that I've questioned in the few times that I've played it was that if you use the warp at the start of first stage you seem too underpowered to be able to kill the boss in the time allowed while dodging patterns(it reverts you bad to the warp entrance if you don't kill it) a strat for this would be good to seetrap15 wrote:

StellaVanity in general is a bit anemic when it comes to high-level footage. A lot of the footage I've found on the English side of the Internet has been of the various trials, and only a couple of videos have full runs of the latest version (or full runs period). Doesn't help that most of them are on easy, either.Zaarock wrote:StellaVanity on Pandemonium :3Emuser wrote:Anyhow, tldr; alive, not dead but slightly uninspired. So is ring^-27 (maybe Battle Traverse too, but I've never bothered searching for runs of that game). I've only seen three Extra difficulty clears of the game, and of those, two of them cheese through with the mirror weapon and circle mode, and none of them demonstrate much attention to scoring. Clips like this and this suggest that there's plenty of scoring potential these runs leave on the table. For once I'd like to see a well-optimized run of the game in any mode (especially Anchor mode since that's kind of the "default"), even Easy or Normal difficulty would be cool.shoryusatsu999 wrote:StellaVanity in general is a bit anemic when it comes to high-level footage. If you haven't seen it already, there's a clear of StellaVanity on Pandemonium on Nicovideo, latest version of the game and with the TLB. I don't know the game well enough to tell whether it's a good score, but it's impressive nonetheless.

clear futari ultra already
Re: No major point to this topic, other than to say I'm not
I thought he double KOs with the absurdly difficult TLB which.. is certainly grounds for ragequitting. Also that's only Azerlete Type-S with custom accessories.Shepardus wrote:If you haven't seen it already, there's a clear of StellaVanity on Pandemonium on Nicovideo, latest version of the game and with the TLB.
