DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
I wonder what's the point of making a limited edition when pretty much everyone's downloaded the game on their PS4 or Steam by now?
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Some people still prefer physical as in theory it should play on any instance of the console hardware without online support. In a predominantly DLC market it makes sense to defer the physical release to the end of the game's sales cycle as most of the problems should be patched by now and it also encourages "double dipping" .

A positive for the PC port is display flexibility. Single monitor? Dual monitor? Ultrawide? You're covered.Chacranajxy wrote:So, now that a fancy retail release is coming out for the PS4 in the US... is there any reason to go with the PS4 version over the PC one? I know the PC version supports two monitors, but I've also heard it has some crash issues and general Japanese PC port ghettoness. Anyone care to weigh in on that stuff?
On the PS4, the bonus I would see is if you also get the Vita version, the DLC is cross-buy, meaning you'll get the DLC for both. Vita version also works well with the Playstation TV (with a Chronusmax, you can use a PS3 arcade stick on the PSTV), though the graphics are inferior to the PS4 naturally.
I own the PC and the PS Vita version (bought it on a PSN sale), I'll be purchasing this version for sure. Wish it was complete with DLC though; I wouldn't mind waiting for them to release a Complete Edition in another year.

Actually, I preordered Iron Fossil before realizing there was also a Knight Fossil version, but in the end,I think I'll stick with the blue fish.

The days of walking into a retail store and picking up a hidden gem on physical media out of the bargain bin are rapidly coming to a close.xxx1993 wrote:I prefer physical too, but they're a little late.
We're increasingly moving towards having to pre-order or buy physical media on its release day (not to be confused with the contents launch day) - because we've already played the download version and decided that we would like to retain the option of playing it at some more distant time in the future again - even if the original hardware has died and/or the online account has been derezzed.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
I take your meaning, but give them some credit, too: the physical Vita version (that I own) was planned from the beginning to satisfy the old sticks like me. I'm sorely tempted by the physical PS4 release, too.xxx1993 wrote:I prefer physical too, but they're a little late.HydrogLox wrote:Some people still prefer physical as in theory it should play on any instance of the console hardware without online support. This may be unrelated, but I remember preordering for a physical copy of Wild Guns Reloaded. I was expecting it to arrive before Christmas, but it failed, and I resorted to downloading it. I then mailed it a few weeks when I got it on New Year's Eve. What are you expecting when you get the physical copy of Dariusburst CS, then?
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Really, I'm not expecting much more than the ability to be able to play it on the PS4 at home, on a larger scale screen than the Vita. I just prefer the I'll-always-have-it physical medium, that's all.xxx1993 wrote:This may be unrelated, but I remember preordering for a physical copy of Wild Guns Reloaded. English version will definitely be a plus, though, that's for certain.

Limited Run told me that there's no print number set with Sony just yet.
Degica will have details on this in the near future.

Shouldn't really matter either way to me.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
As I said on the sales thread, this game's on sale on the EU store.
By the way, what's widely considered to be the best DLC pack? I think I'd rather have the Cave one, mostly because of the music, but Metal Black and Ray Force are also tempting.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
If I have the Japanese retail version for Vita then buying the DLC from the Australian PSN store won't work right? Is it like the PS3 where you need to buy DLC from the same region the game is from?

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
I'm getting back into CS mode and hoping to finish off the levels I haven't cleared with the preset ships. Currently pulling my hair out over Uinda's alternate route conditions. I have a spot-on, high-scoring route through the first two stages sussed out, but keep sustaining stupid little scrapes here and there, scuppering a crucial no-damage bonus. This most often happens on Thorn Wheel, who I've never thought of as a particularly tricky boss, but who now frequently ends the attempt. Either that or I'll score just under the 65m.
Thankfully, this seems to be the hardest alternate route to trigger, and once I do the route itself should be plain sailing.

Somehow, I managed to get the required scored while missing one no-damage bonus. I guess the biggest factor is getting everything else with that 60x multiplier.
Just in case, remember that raising the multiplier seems to work under some invisible combo counter, so its best to kill one constant stream of enemies instead of killing the formations as soon as possible.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Yeah, getting the second no-damage bonus isn't necessary, but given that I have been scoring just under the threshold, getting both would push me comfortably over.
I actually didn't know that that about the multiplier - thanks for the tip! I've been keeping it consistently at 60 before the run fails, but getting it to 60 earlier and nailing a couple more formations could definitely help.
Update: cleared it! Managed to squeeze through without getting the no-damage bonus on st2. Incredibly tight, though. Really rewarding experience.

1.09 is now available for the Vita physical version. DLC is the only change.

Is DLC region locked?boagman wrote:1.09 is now available for the Vita physical version. DLC is the only change.
edit: people on LRG forums are the worst. Tons of people who don't know what it is but buying it anyway because it's limited and then there's stuff like this..

Soldner and Aqua Kitty confirmed better than Dariusburst

edit2: people saying they're going to buy it and keep it sealed is pissing me off. I'm glad this is getting an English physical copy but LRG kind of sucks.

So... I took my coworkers out to the arcade the other night and did a 4 player 2cc (lowest possible) of ADH. One of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had. Game is friendly enough to beginners but coordinating 4 players as "squad leader" is a whole new ballgame. Highly recommended to anyone with the spare controllers (or a local cab).
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Yes it is, unfortunately.DoomsDave wrote:Is DLC region locked?
And it's not like you can buy it on a Japanese account and play it with your main, on the Vita you can only have one at a time.

Damn, thanks for the answer.

Wait until you see the speedkills you can have with Sabre. Poor Great Thing reduced to a 30-second scuffle...

Playing the Capcom DLC last night made me realize I have no idea how I am supposed to be playing Progear. Can someone provide me a quick rundown on how to score in DBCS with the Progear ship? Thank you.

I haven't played the DLC and have only watched a stream of it, so feel free to correct me:amdiggywhut wrote:Playing the Capcom DLC last night made me realize I have no idea how I am supposed to be playing Progear. I noticed that killing things with the bomb gives you an additional x4 multiplier like Gaiden (hilariously).
I assume jeweling works similar to Progear on a vague level:
- Kill things with rapid shot to create rings. The more rings that are on-screen, the higher-level any new rings created will be.
- Once you've raised your ring level (visible in the lower-left corner), kill things with focus shot to spawn jewels that give points. The quality of jewels generated corresponds to your ring level. Doing this will reset your ring level to its minimum. Rings/jewels go in this order: amethyst -> ruby -> emerald -> diamond.

it seem that the capcom dlc has not been released on psn here in the uk/europe,can anyone else confirm this.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Any tips for better telling when a boss is right about to die?
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
When it's close to death it starts glowing red when taking damage and I think sparks/crackles of electricity come out of it. The closer it is to death the more prominent the effects. It takes some experience to pinpoint with much precision when it's going to die, though.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Yeah, I like using Gaiden alot, and it can get very hard to get the kill with the bomb on some bosses.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
So forgive my ignorance: I have no access to translation for the game. Is there a penalty for not using the Preset ship that they have for the different CS stages? Some of them really appear to be poor choices for the runs they have in mind.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
You can't submit highscores using other ships.
